Quite a grand wedding.
Exactly ..... who is she, and/or who is he ... to have earned this place of prominence here (and on GREMB) ?
until tonight never had a problem with "who" and "how" ... but nust be dyslexic (or drunk, or both) given that there are the same three letters in each .....
ps .... how apt that saying "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission" ! Very good insight.

Well, Countess Gabriele (bride) is through her mother's side a member of the royal house of Bavaria (non-reigning house). The present Duke of Bavaria, Francis succeeded to the Jacobite throne (party which formed after the revolution in 1688 and continued to support the Stuart dynasty, as representing the principle of divine right, term derived from Jacobus, latin for James). And the royal house of Bavaria traces their lineage back to James I, King of England and VI of Scotland.
The present Duke of Bavaria, Francis, is recognized as King Francis II by the Jacobites. But he uses the title of Duke of Bavaria.
Well, to make the long story short, the bride is his niece, the daughter of his sister, Marie Gabriele of Bavaria.
The bride is also cousins with the Duchess in Bayern, Elizabeth, who got married earlier in the year to Daniel Terberger.
I thought we needed some wedding pictures from non-reigning royal houses. Also, I wanted to look at some royal guests like Duchess Elizabeth in Bayern, Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein, Sibilla of Luxembourg...and see the fashion "hits" and "misses"....

a sight that may help you understand about the Jacobites and their relationship with Duke of Bavaria is listed below. The genealogical tree might be helpful, but the brides mother who is the sister of Francis, present duke of Bavaria is no listed alongside her brothers (Francis and Max)...

The children of Max and Elizabeth in Bayern.
left to right: princess Hélène, princess Maria Anna, princess Elisabeth and husband Daniel Terberger, princess Marie Caroline and husband duke Philipp von Württemberg.
Behind them, on the left, you can catch a glimpse of archduke Martin of Austria.

A bit more information, the German bride is 44 (she'll be 45 this year) and her French husband is a few years older. Better late than never! :) :)
Countess Marie Gabrielle is an independent portrait painter and count Bernard is the director of various industrial firms. The couple will go to live in Monaco.
The bride's dress was made of snowwhite silk with lace at the sleeves and around the neckline. There's a small jacket with long sleeves to wear over it in church. Her train was 3 meters long. The gown was created by Ursula Vogt-Ettrich in Munich.
The bride has 5 brothers and sisters who are already married.
The church service lasted about an hour and a half and reunited a lot of German and European aristocrarcy.
At 14h00 there was a dinner for the family and guests at the castle.
In the evening the Waldburg gard brought a serenade to the married couple and afterwards there was a party (with dj :)) at the castle. A nice mix of tradition and modern life!!
