The wedding will take place Saturday April 26th 2008.

the groom is the son of Archduchess Andrea Maria and Hereditary Count Karl Eugen von Neipperg

Does anyone know any details about the brides dress? Where the the wedding will take place? Who will be there? if any Pictures will be Released??

Where does Archduchess Andrea Maria fit into the family tree? Who is her father? :flowers:

Can I suggest that for all those who are not familiar with the geneaology of the royal families check out this site. Then you can find out who is related to whom fot yourselves.
An Online Gotha

For the answer to this one A'dss Andrea is the daughter of Ad Otto, Head of the Imperial House of Austria

Thank you Fearghas. I had forgotten that one of A/D Otto's five daughters was called Andrea and had married into the von Neipperg family. I believe she has six children, but didn't know anything further about them. There is so little information given about the Austrian Royals in PDV, which is my main source of info about European Royalty!

As much as I shouldn't on some level, I'm a total sucker for those blue-blood to blue-blood German marriages. They just always manage to have such lovely traditional weddings: a German castle (German castles are the BEST), gorgeous traditional bride in white with family heirloom veil, the entire family present, etc. etc.
I guess what I'm saying is, there's something comforting about the traditionalism of it all that especially those German blue bloods seem to do so well for some reason.

While you could get away with calling Paula blue-blood, her fathers family is not royalty or nobilty. But they have married very well, including two habsburgs.

Very well indeed! Every mother should carry an Almanach de Gotha in her handbag. :D

It has also to do with the education. They send their children often to Internats and not ot public schools, so that they meet children with the same background, and thy bring they children to other noble WEddings and events.

you're right and this is exactly why I shouldn't like these weddings as much as I do - it's just so orchestrated and anti-egaliterian and conformist. I mean, lord forbid that one of these people's kids actually came home to present a new partner from the ranks of 'le peuple', their families would just keel over! But at the same time, I can't help but love the all-out traditionalism these people blatantly manifest in a throne-free era (for Germany and Austria, that is)

As well as the schooling that Stefan mentioned, keep in mind these people move in similar social circles, they are members of an elite caste based purely on lineage which gives them a common denominator, many are related somewhere down the line, and they would often share similar values and interests. That said, many do marry out, for example the Hereditary Princes of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Baden, and the Fürst of Schaumburg-Lippe last year (that was quite something - check the thread!).

Everyone loves a good wedding, and as you mentioned, mixing the tradition with a touch of faded glitter just adds to the appeal. :)

That's nice that Archduke Otto and Archduchess Regina saw one of their grandchildren get married :)

Archduchess Fransesca looks very nice IMO. She seems to be escorted by her b-i-l Georg. Does anybody know what other members of the Habsburg family attended? I didn't see any pictures with Archduke Otto or Archduchess Regina sadly.

I have to say that the bride is lovely, but that is one of the worst made wedding dresses I have ever seen. It looks very homemade, which would be fine if the seamstress was Vera Wang.

Have seen pictures of
Archduke Otto and Archduchess Regina
Archduchess Monika with husband and sons
Archduches Walburga and Count Archibald Douglas
Archduke Karl and Archduchess Francesca with children
Archduke Georg and Archduchess Eilika with children
Count Josef Hubert and Countess Therese of Neipperg

Great photo links, Elsa, thank you.:flowers: However, I must say that poor Otto looks incredibly weak and frail.

The bride's ensemble was very plain, wasn't it? And what an opportunity for a nice tiara to shine, or even flowers, in her severe hairdo.

Yes he does. He did look the same at the funeral of his brother in January. But we must remember that he is already 95.

Horrible wedding dress. OMG, so cheap looking.

More than plain, I would call it poor: poor gown (which was said to be inspired by her mother's wedding dress), plain hair-do, no tiara, no bouquet... I'm all for simplicity, but this looks home-made.

While you could get away with calling Paula blue-blood, her fathers family is not royalty or nobilty. But they have married very well, including two habsburgs.
Paula Wolff's mother is Ladislaia (Eleonore Jeanne Marie) von Meran comtesse de Meran, baronne de Brandhof Ladislaia von Meran and has with her husband 9 children (including 2 pair of twins).
Paula's father has in his ancestors Fursts von Wrede. Her uncle is married to Marie-Bernadette von HAbsburg-Lothringen, principessa di Toscana.

I do not recall Otto looking that frail at the funeral, and I do realize he is 95. Unfortunately, he looks older than that.

:)

In other words, two descendants of Emperor Leopold II have married; one a maternal Habsburg, the other a maternal von Meran (a cadet line of the Habsburgs).
Generally, cadet lines fade into obscurity, but not the von Merans who have a habit of continuing to surprise by marrying well.

They same can be said for the Hohenbergs.

Is he a descendant of Count Adam Albert von Neipperg, who wed Marie-Louise, the Duchess of Parma, Piacenza and Guastalla?
