Very original wedding cake - in the shape of castle.

The big thing on the cake is not a castle, it is the Tower Bridge in London, symbolizing the groom’s home. The smaller building on the cake is symbolizing the family home of the bride’s family, the „Salzburgerhof“ in St. Andrä, Austria.

According to the article the bridal gown is by Austrian firm Doren. They say that she decided againt wearing the family tiara because it didn't fit with the design of the gown, instead she wore her mother's topaz earrings.

I'm curious to know more about that family tiara because I don't know about a tiara in that branch of the family. Maybe it will be seen when her brother Ferdinand Karl marries later this year?


Have there been pictures of the guests? I wonder which Habsburgs were present.

There was a short clip about the wedding last week on ORF. Maybe it is still online then I will post a link. Elmerice is apparently a Countess of Habsburg-Lothringen and not an Archduchess of Austria so the title of the thread is not correct. But there was a very nice interview with her in the wedding clip and I have to say she really is a sweetheart.

Apparently Archduke Karl has reinstated all of the morgantaic branches of the Habsburg Family (with the exception of hte meran and Hohenberg branches) to the Titles Archduke/Archduchess. But there is no clear Information when this happened and not all of them are using the Archduke/Archduchess titles.

If i remember rtight when last year Archduchess Magdalena married (whop should also be a Countess of Habsburg-Lothringen) there whre some pics of a guest list or place Cards in the Church and on it members of the Family where referred to as Archdukee/Archduchess who where orginally Count/Countess.

They are far-away related. Archduke Karl of Austria, the present head of the House of Habsburg and Countess Elmerice both Emperor Leopold II as an ancestor.
