Princess Sophie of Greece & Denmark and Prince Christoph of Hesse

On December 15, 1930 Princess Sophie married Prince Christoph of Hesse in Kronberg, Berlin in Germany. Sophie was the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg.

And youngest sister by 3 years. Odd in those times for the youngest to marry first, especially when her eldest sister was 9 years older.

She was lucky to have married because they struggled to get good marital choices because of their lack of money and they were without a throne

Such a life the Impoverished Greek's lived with exile ,mothers confinement and being moved from relative to relative!

Marie Bonaparte’s money helped out a lot with that and her husband was well-off and they had a home at least when she got married. It was Philip who constantly was moved from relative to relative

Their aunt Edwina also helped them out financially and had her clothes made so that they could be altered for her nieces when she didn't want them anymore.

That too. Both helped them out so they were certainly not on the streets, even though they were impoverished
