Princess Marie of Edinburgh and Crown Prince Ferdinand of Romania - 1893
Princess Marie was the daughter of Prince Alfred Duke of Edinburgh and Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna.
Crown Prince Ferdinand was the heir of King Carol I of Romania.
The marriage of Marie and Ferdinand occurred at Sigmaringen Castle in three ceremonies on January 10, 1893.
The first one was a civil ceremony.
The second one was a Roman Catholic ceremony at 4 o'clock at the town church since Ferdinand was a Roman Catholic. Prince Alfred escorted Marie to the altar.
An Anglican ceremony was held at one of the castle's chambers.
