It was interesting to learn that Princess Marie Louise and Ferdinand had not met each other until their engagement was celebrated at the Castle of Schwartzau.

That's a different couple: princess Marie of Edinburgh and crown prince Ferdinand of Romania who got married in 1893 (later king and queen of Romania) - more precisely on 10 January 1893 at Sigmaringen Castle.

This thread is about princess Marie Louise of Bourbon-Parma and prince Ferdinand of Bulgaria (a decade after Marie Louise's death he became tsar Ferdinand of Bulgaria) who also got married in 1893 - but on 20 April 1893 at the Villa Pianore in Lucca.

The wedding party included members of the Coburg and Orleans families.
The witnesses to the signing of the marriage contract were the Duke de la Grazia and Count Mensdorff.
