Was it a love-match?

Does anyone know the details of thier marriage/relationship? Were they happy and in love? The bride doesn't look very pleased in some of these photos, and she's practically dragging her bouquet!

What great photographs..........thank you Marengo for sharing them........I can only imagine what it was like to attend a royal marriage or any other royal event... they are just amazing!!! it is almost as if I was there.......and oh how I wish I would have been there

Nice to thank Marengo, but perhaps you should read the credit. The postcards are in my collection - and I used them in one of my articles for my blog, Royal Musings.

The ceremony was conducted in the Chapel of Sigmaringen Castle by Cardinal Jose Nato, Patriarch of Lisbon. He had christened the groom.

For the wedding ceremony King Manuel II stood on a crate containing soil brought from Portugal.

Yes it's true.

Manuel bore the Order of the Garter and the Grand Cordon of the Band of the Three Orders.

Does anyone know information about the tiara that Augusta Victoria wore?

It looks to me to be the Hohenzollern Clover Coronet.

He was good-looking. Unfortunately he and his wife didn’t have children. They both lived in London during exile and were well liked.

I was wrong. It's a similar Fleur de lys coronet not the Clover leaf coronet.
