Princess Margriet and her family today take part on the ice of Thialf Heerenveen during De Hollandse 100. The aim of this sporting event is to raise money for research into lymphoma.

It seems that former football player Patrick Kluivert, fashion designer Olcay Gulsen and one of those terrible singers from Volendam were the local celebrities that joined in.

From the brothers I gather that prince Floris was missing. It seems that the photographers got some competition of Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven, who did not skate but instead made photographs of the event.

There was also a 90km bicycle ride planned, but it was cancelled due to the cold & heavy winds.

Prince Pieter Christiaan named today Colonel at KMAR! And his proude father was there!
KMAR, is one of the four Services of the armed forces of the Netherlands.

Princess Margriet as Honorary President of the Red Cross together with Prince Pieter-Christiaan as Vice-President are visiting Red Cross projects in the field of disaster prevention in Haiti from November 8 - 12.

Prince Bernhard, Princess Annette and Princess Margriet attended the kick-off of this year's De Hollandse 100 in Amsterdam today, February 8.

Prince Bernard attend at the Dutch 100 a charity race. During the event, 10 kilometers are skated and 90 kilometers cycled to raise money for research into lymph node cancer. Of course had the support of his family!

By Royal Decree Pieter van Vollenhoven, Colonel of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Reserve, Aide-de-Camp Extraordinary to His Majesty The King, has been promoted to the rank of Commodore titulair.

Commodore Van Vollenhoven was given his new épaulettes in the presence of his spouse HRH Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and of his third son HH Prince Pieter-Christiaan van Oranje-Nassau, Van Vollenhoven, Colonel of the Royal Marechaussee Reserve.

The épaulettes were attached by Lieutenant-General J. D. Luyt, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Netherlands Air Force and by Rear Admiral L.H.I. Brummelaar, Chief of the Military House of The King, Aide-de-Camp General.

Commodore Van Vollenhoven started in 1966 at the Juridical Department of the Staff of the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

In 1967 Van Vollenhoven enrolled in the course to obtain a military license to fly as helicopter- and light aircraft pilot. He did this at Deelen Air Base near Arnhem.

In 1968 Van Vollenhoven became reserve pilot of the 300 Squadron (77 helicopters of the type Aérospatiale Alouette III and 30 helicopters of the type Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm BO-105).

In 2005 Van Vollenhoven was promoted to the rank of Colonel of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Reserve.

In 2019 Van Vollenhoven has been promoted to the rank of Commodore titulair.
