HH Prince Pieter-Christiaan van Oranje-Nassau, Van Vollenhoven has purchased a new house close to the Royal Domain De Horsten in Wassenaar. Price: € 1.800.000,--(the asking price was € 1.985.000,--).
The public records learn that there is no mortgage on the purchase. So the Prince has bought it with own cash. Besides this house in Wassenaar, Prince Pieter-Christiaan also owns a villa in Noordwijk and a former farm turned into house in Wassenaar.
The Prince is an officer in the Operational Staff of the Koninklijke Marechaussee (the royal constabulary). His elder brother Prince Bernhard owns lots of real estate but that is also part of his enterprises. We may assume that the Prince is able to purchase all this because his grandparents (Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard) have left him "well to do".

Didn't the prince leave the Royal Marechaussee in 2009? I believe he is now the chairman of the advisory board of EMG-csr, a consultancy firm and in the boards of the Dutch Red cross and Laureus sports foundation.

According these communiqués he was still working at the Koninklijke Marechaussee in 2012 and even has the rank of a Lieutenant-Colonel ( Overste):

Aimée Leonie Allegonde Marie Söhngen, born 18 oktober 1977 in Amsterdam, is a daughter of the late Johannes Hubertus Magdalena Söhngen and of Eleonora Leonarda Francisca Maria Stammeijer.
It seems her late father worked as a director of a company and her mother worked as a real estate broker. Her brother, Hans Söhngen jr. is director Investor Relations at the telecom giant Royal KPN. Not pauvre but it also looks not so wealthy that one can purchase three big houses in Wassenaar and Noordwijk without mortgage.

Ow you are absolutely right, I always mix the two ladies up (it started with their duo-engagement... and both names with an A (Anita and Aimée).
Anita & Pieter-Christiaan
Anita Theodora van Eijk, born 27 oktober 1967, is a daughter of Ir. Leonardus Antonius van Eijk and of Johanna Catharina Maria Steens. It seems Anita was born in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) and also lived in Aix-en-Provence (France) and in Singapore because of her father's job. No idea what her father did but it is indeed also not pauvre either.
