Prince Pieter-Christiaan came in 2nd in the 11th Antarctica Marathon a few weeks ago.The worlds most exclusive marathon only
allows 100 participants and PC had to wait for two years before he was allowed in as there is a waitinglist till 2014.
It took the Prince two weeks to get there via Buenes Aires and the southern city of Ushuaia were he got on a russian ship that
got him and the rest of the group to King George island.
He said it was the toughest experience in a marathon he ever had.
It was the 14th Marathon of His Highness, after Hawai,NYC,London and Rotterdam ao.

TH Prince Pieter-Christiaan and Princess Anita are also looking around for housing at the Horsten Estate it appears.A real Royal compound.
HM is the sole owner of the estate, inherited from Queen Juliana who in turn had inherited from Queen Wilhelmina who in turn purchased it
from Fürstin Marie of Wied,néé Princess of Orange Nassau and daughter of Prince Frederik,a son of King Willem I,and the most charming of family members in the 19th century dutch RF,a mediator par excellence. He lived to see wee Wilhelmina in 1880.Anyway,PC and Anita are looking at the estate too now.

The prince was actually in NYC to participate in the marathon, which he completed within 3 and a half hour. Blauw Bloed has an interview with him about it. Apparently he also participated in a Dutch meeting of runners before the marathon, where they exchanged tips.

Princess Anita's relatives
Does anyone know if Princess Anita is related to the late Robert Floris van Eijk, the second husband of Princess Christina of Hesse (and therefore also to his brother, the late architect Aldo van Eijk, and their father, the philosopher Pieter Nicolaas van Ejik)?

On his 39th birthday last tuesday Prince Pieter-Christiaan took his whole family for an evening out to the musical "Soldier of Orange" at the former airforce base "Valkenburg" near The Hague. The musical is the story of Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema,a WWII resistance hero and friend of the Royal Family, all of them. But their always was a special bond between Pieter-Christiaan and Erik HR who was the Prince's best man at his wedding. The Prince visited him several times in Hawai where Erik lived since decades until he passed away a few years ago.

Prince Pieter-Christiaan and Princess Anita attended the Formula One Gala Dinner on May 29, 2011 in Monaco.
So maybe they also attended the Grand Prix itself.
I've accidently spotted them in the background of the pictures and couldn't find any better ones, so I guess
the press didn't notice them at all

Princess Anita attended the opening of an exposition by Miguel Arregui, in Amsterdam. It seems that she drove her car against something while she was parking.

A statement has been released that Princess Anita currently is in the USA for a specialized research
related to neurological symptoms, no further details. Prince Pieter-Christiaan is with her, so they did
not attend today's charity event with the rest of the family.

Some articles say that she is only in the US for research after 'neurological complaints' and not for a treatment (others state that she is following a treatment indeed). The RVD will not reveal the exact nature of the complaints.

Thats very good news. Curious though, could such surgery not be performed in The Netherlands?

As Cedars Sinai Medical Center is a very specialized institution they choose to have the op there. The leak is something rather rare to happen spontaniously and takes a specialised team to "repear",the best plummers in that field as the op was complex.
Our Neuro surgeons are top of the bill too, don't worry, but this option was choosen by the couple.OK,if it helps, all is permitted...
