The Prince spoke on our local news station about he cannot forget what happened on April 30th and how those images will forever be with the family. He seemed to get quite emotional and couldn't really answer the question. You can tell how affected the family must have been. They also spoke about how Canada is like a second home to them.

Thank you, Ghost_Night554! They look beautiful, and I am glad that they made the visit to Canada as planned.

Your welcome, I'll keep an eye out for any footage or pictures from tonight's gala :flowers:

Thanks Lucien, I didn't hear anything about the gala over here so nice to be able to read the speech. Maybe no camera's were allowed that's why. I dunno I'm just guessing.

Maurits and Marilene look so happy and in love even after all these years.

Prince Maurits is appointed manager of the National promotion on electrical vehicles, well, cars really, the so-called Formula One team,an innovative 65 million euro government project.

The money is mainly aimed at developing affordable batteries and cars, and as a goal there should be 200.000 electrical cars by 2020 on 8 million "Normal" cars.

The Prince is an independant entrepeneur and the owner of an Innovation Agency here in Amsterdam by the name of the Source".His appointment was announced during the Innovation Estafette 2009 at the former Valkenburg Airforce base wednesday and thursday.

Good for him,well done Maurits!

It seems princess Marilene is wearing exactly the same outfit as yesterday in Apeldoorn (not that it is of any importance of course). Do you know if princess Margriet and Prof. van Vollenhoven made it on time? Where in Germany was the count burried btw?

On 3 September Princess Marilene attended the opening of the Louis Vuiton store in the Bijenkorf in Amsterdam:

HH Princess Mariléne will open the Ronald McDonald Sportcenter this afternoon,Amsterdam-Noord
to enable children with cronical illnesses to sport and have some fun added in their precious little lives.
Both the Princess and Prince Maurits have been involved with the Ronald McDonald House at the
VU University Medical Center as volunteers,ao,during MakeaDifferenceDays.

Nice to see the princess 'in action' again. And even nicer that she decided to wear something else than the usual multi-layered matronly outfits from Maison Pauw.

It seems that apart from Marilene, the opening was also attended by Marco van Basten (former soccer player and ex coach of the national soccer team), Ed Nijpels (politician - BTW I thought he moved to Malaysia with his wife Elsbeth) and TV presentor Lucille Werner.

:previous:

On Blauw Bloed they showed a clip about the event. The princess was interviewed and replied that she isn't as sportive as she used to be but she still plays tennis. Her two eldest children play field hocky (surprise :p) and she is now following a course to become a coach.

Marco van Basten said that she is actually his neighbour.

Thanks Josette! They do make a lovely family! The pictures were taken at the Efteling I think.

And two pictures from 2009, posted on Flickr! The pictures were taken by David Cohen de Larah, for a cook book of tv presentor Yvon Jaspers. The book is called 'Yvon gaat aan tafel met'

Marilene and Anna

Lucas and Maurits

It seems the pictures were taken at their house in Amsterdam.

Prince Maurits was interviewed by the magazine 'LeasePlan' about driving in electric cars. The prince & his company are promoting this.

According to royalblog.nl hehas also been interviewed by the magazine 'drive' about the same issue. The prince said that you have to get seduced by the electric car and used more marketing terms. He confessed that he is still using a normal car though.

Prince Maurits performed the start of the GreenCab event as the city of Utrecht starts a test using of 40 Green cabs
that drive entirely on electricity.Maurits is,by request of the Dutch Government,a member of a governmental group on
sustaineble energy.
