It's always good to see Prince Bernhard out and about. I hope his health wise he is getting better.

It's always good to see Prince Bernhard out and about. I hope his health wise he is getting better.

He has been healthy for several years now (unless his Crohn disease is playing up but I haven't heard about it). He has been in a fine condition for about 4 years now; as proven by doing his 'Hollandse 100' (10 km skating; 90 km biking) for several years in a row now.

On June 6 Prince Bernhard as co-owner of Circuit Zandvoort and Machteld de Haan, General Manager Shell Retail Benelux and France, signed a three-year sponsorship agreement between Shell and the circuit:

Prince Bernhard as co-owner of Circuit Zandvoort and the Dutch Minister of Health Welfare and Sport Hugo de Jonge attended a scooter race for elderly people at the Circuit of Zandvoort on June 27. The event was organized by the Golden Days Foundation with the aim to get older people out of their social isolation.

Apparenyly ugly christmas contests are now also part of Dutch christmas traditions. Another Americanization of our holidays.

Prince Bernhard has expanded his real estate imperium via the real estate firm Pinnacle. After 500+ houses, offices, a race circuit, he has now bought the Media Park in Hilversum, where almost all Dutch tv and media productions are made. The park has 150.000 m2 business space and at the moment around 6.000 people work there. It is not known what the purchase did cost.

A risky buy perhaps, now more television stations are moving things to Amsterdam. Though I suppose most public stations will stick to Hilversum.

Just yo clarify; prince Bernhard is a minority owner of Pinnacle.

The fact that it took 2 years for the mediapark to be sold suggests that either the original price was too high or it's a risky deal. The mayor at least is happy that it was finally sold.

The location is golden. When tv studios leave, the Media Park can be transformed into a high tech and media campus attracting innovative companies and former offices and sites can be turned into attractive top-segment apartments with high yields for investors.

Last week a video appeared of Prince Bernhard in café 't Lammetje -owned by rapper Lil'Kleine- on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam with a blonde lady.

A photo appeared on the cover of gossip magazine Privé where the prince seems to "whisper something in her ear". [Note Marengo: considering the volume of the music in these cafes I suspect he may be shouting in her ear rather than whispering]. The person who filmed the two claimed that the lady twice tried to slam the telephone out of his hands.

Prince Benrhard commented that he knows about the article and says that it is 'a nonsense story' on which he does not want to comment.

According to the magazine the prince 'has something to explain at home'.

The lady has now been identified as the 33 y/o Hella Huizinga, an event organiser.

She -thankfully- refuses to comment.

Prince Bernhard as co-owner of Circuit Zandvoort attended a press meeting at the Circuit Zandvoort today, May 14, as the Dutch Formula One Grand Prix will return to Zandvoort in May 2020 (first time since 1985):

Apparently he succeeded in returning the Formula 1 races to The Netherlands, for the first time in 35 years. Nice for those who enjoy the sport and not so nice for those who live close by and don't.

In the mean time I have seen many posters in the city with the image of prince Bernhard on it. The posters look like advertisements for books. The title is: "the prince with the 349 houses. Not a fairytale".

The campaign is of a website that protests against the problems on the housing market in Amsterdam of which prince Bernhard -next to the website Airbnb- has become the most disliked symbol.

Thank you for the updates. Have these events involving Prince Bernhard become a liability for the monarchy, or has his status as a non-member of the Royal House and in practice a private citizen protected the monarchy from the association?

Holland a beautiful Country, but not just Tulips Waterway's and bicycles. It has the same problems as the rest of the world has. Space for Homes people can afford and raise their children in a safe way, without fear that they need to find a space somewhere on a street corner, because they cant afford to pay rent. This sadness is shared with the rest of the world. Because the mighty BUCK if EURO or DOLLAR is way more important then ones fellow man. Sad but true.
