It's always good to see Prince Bernhard out and about. I hope his health wise he is getting better.

He has been healthy for several years now (unless his Crohn disease is playing up but I haven't heard about it). He has been in a fine condition for about 4 years now; as proven by doing his 'Hollandse 100' (10 km skating; 90 km biking) for several years in a row now.

Prince Bernhard as co-owner of Circuit Zandvoort and the Dutch Minister of Health Welfare and Sport Hugo de Jonge attended a scooter race for elderly people at the Circuit of Zandvoort on June 27. The event was organized by the Golden Days Foundation with the aim to get older people out of their social isolation.

Prince Bernhard has expanded his real estate imperium via the real estate firm Pinnacle. After 500+ houses, offices, a race circuit, he has now bought the Media Park in Hilversum, where almost all Dutch tv and media productions are made. The park has 150.000 m2 business space and at the moment around 6.000 people work there. It is not known what the purchase did cost.

A risky buy perhaps, now more television stations are moving things to Amsterdam. Though I suppose most public stations will stick to Hilversum.

Just yo clarify; prince Bernhard is a minority owner of Pinnacle.
The fact that it took 2 years for the mediapark to be sold suggests that either the original price was too high or it's a risky deal. The mayor at least is happy that it was finally sold.

The location is golden. When tv studios leave, the Media Park can be transformed into a high tech and media campus attracting innovative companies and former offices and sites can be turned into attractive top-segment apartments with high yields for investors.
