Do you know if they are still having that loud music problem with a disco close to their house?
I guess D. Duarte and his neighbours in Ferragudo were planning to do something against that disco. I really hope everything is ok this year and they can have some rest.

My understanding is that Sasha was still having those late-night parties... I hope with less noise. ;)

It's not a new monarchist organization. It's just another new Real Associação (Royal Association). Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro didn't have any. :) Reais Associações are small associations present in most large cities of Portugal to promote the monarchist ideals.

If you're interested, here is the list of the Royal Associations in Portugal. Most links are not working :bang:
I didn't know there was a Real Associação in Mozambique

Yes, I hope that too.

The view is really amazing!

Good find, Regina! :flowers:
The link states that it is a "former residence of the Portuguese royal family", but it doesn't give many details... It says that the lady in charge of the house "was housekeeper for the Princess until her death", but it doesn't say who's the Princess that owned the property...

Do you know further details on the background of this house?

the site says "summer residence belonging to the former Portugese Royal Family", but then says former residence, so which one is it?

According to Point de Vue (21 January 2003) the house was owned by the Infanta Filipa (1905-1990), daughter of Miguel, Duke of Bragança and granddaughter of King Miguel I.
It was either inherited or purchased by Dom Duarte who has since restored the house to a "comfortable and practical" state.

Thank you, Warren! :flowers:
It does make sense... I checked the information now, and D.ª Filipa de Bragança actually died in Ferragudo, on July 7th 1990.
She didn't have children, so the house was probably inherited by her nephew.

Here's another website describing the house:

I liked to see D. Duarte walking with the Caipirinhas :) A gentleman, as the article says.

Walking with the caipirinhas? Are you referring to the Brazilian cocktails or to something else? ... if you do I suppose it would be more entertaining to see him walking after some of those... ;)

The Duke and Duchess of Bragança attended the gala dinner promoted by the Order of Malta's Embassador in Mozambique. The event took place on September 20th, in the Bragança Grand Ducal Palace (in Guimarães).

Thanks Elsa! Do you have any idea what capes Dom Duarte and the other people on the picture are wearing? It seems to belong to some order?

In the scope of Feira da Golegã (which is joining in the celebrations for the centenary of King D. Carlos), the Duke of Bragança is going to receive the Cruz do Romeiro de Honra, next November 11th (St. Martin's Day) and inaugurate the exhibition "D. Carlos, um Rei Constitucional".

Last November 31st, the Casino of Vilamoura hosted the Fourth Gala of Refúgio Aboim Ascensão (a welfare institution for children at risk), which was attended by D. Duarte and D.ª Isabel.
Dom Duarte Pio praised the voluntary, which he considered to be characteristic of the Portuguese people, and said that the governments should take more care of these institutions, instead of spending millions on secondary things.

Thanks Elsa, the Duchess looks radiant as usual, I am not too sure about the glittering pyama that she is wearing though.
How did the Duke praise these volunteers? Did he hold a speech or did he say as much to the press?

That's what I thought too... it really looks like a pijama, doesn't it

Yes, he was one of the personalities who hold a speech, at the gala:

How big the children are! I think both boys will be very handsome young men sometime soon. Maria Francisca looks a lot like her mother, I think.

Such great photos of the family. This is one of my favourite royal families! Thank You.
