The caption says the King was planning a visit to England for a possible 'marital announcement of extreme interest', but it appears he was in poor health at the time.

Was the king trying to arrange a marriage into the British royal family?

Princess Victoria Patricia of Connaught was not yet married. Was there a possibility Manuel II was considering her to be his spouse?

Rumor has it that Victoria Patricia of Connaught was one of the most desirable princesses to marry Prince Luís Filipe (the brother of Manuel II).
But I don't know if there was a possibility of her becoming the wife of King Manuel II.
But I've read a few times that Manuel II still tried to get a bride in the British royal family. But I don't know if it's true.
