No, she didn't. As far as I know she was sent to some sanatorium in England. Don't know when exactly. :-/

Understand. She is not liked here either except to some who through her finally managed to frequent the royalty. She makes also a huge mess about her charity work but result is not very obvious.
As for money it this not very clear how much she has. She comes from a very average family in Greece. Of course now with the royal connexions they make money. But she behaviours like if everything was due to her.

Well, I don't know the family from which she comes, although it was rumored here that she comes from a Greek-Jewish family whose father had some business with cotton or something like that... Just don't know exactly if this is the truth or not :-/

Btw, I heard that she was not very much liked by her stepsons who came with them to live in Serbia when Alexander returned from exile in 2001. Soon, everyone of them left because they couldn't stand being directed how to behave and what to do by her.

Yes she comes from a Greek Jewish family. They were very poor, some have been also deported in Aushwitch. They had a shop in Athens which selled fabric for clothing. Not high class, bargain pieces of fabric. They became well off, but nothing extremely luxurious. They were a huge family also, many people living from the same company.
Any way this is not the important point, but the behaviour

I agree. Very, very pushy, but not in a classy way.

Here is a link to her interview in Italian:

Intervista di S.A.R La Principessa Antonella d‚€™Orl√©ans-Bourbon a S.A.R. Eleonora Karageorgevitch, Principessa di Jugoslavia - ROYAL MONACO RIVIERA ISSN 2057-5076

Anyone who knows Italian? Does she say anything about tiara she is wearing?

It looks costume. Like one of those belts that women by to bedazzle their dress at the waists. It looks as though it's either plastic or crystals. Don't think it's real in any way shape or form.

I always thought that it might be sprigs of orange blossoms. Very traditional for wedding hairstyles, and a good choice if there's no tiara at hand. Only the arrangement looks a bit awkward to me.

Princess Helen of Serbia was the daughter of King Peter I of Yugoslavia and Princess Zorka.
What tiara is she wearing in this photograph?

I am not 100% certain, but I think she is wearing her mothers tiara.

Unfortunately, there are only 2 small pictures from which we can only suggest.

She also got many beautiful jewels as the wedding present from the Romanovs when she married into the family. In some of her memoirs she said that she was astonished by the beauty of the jewels she got as the wedding presents, including a tiara.

Picture of necklace Tiara that Queen Alexandra of Yugoslavia was wearing:

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b1/3b...0401c1205b.jpg

Based on her book "For Love of a King", the only tiara Alexandra owned was Emerald tiara which was later sold to Van Cleef and Arples, so this piece was obviously borrowed.

I really don't know :( This is how the necklace/tiara looks like in whole:

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a7/02...ea35ab7d67.jpg

It must have sold at some point and this picture could from an auction. At least it looks like that. If we could find the auction, we could have had some more information about the provenance.

Btw, before the marriage Princess Aspasia and Alexandra were financially supported by Sir James Horlick, 4th Baronet, with whose help they bought Garden of Eden Villa in Venice, so it could be Horlick baronets piece.

The pearl necklace and earrings in the previous photo were 18th birthday gift from her mother and I think that today Crown Princess Catherine wears them.

But, on the other hand, she was already married at the time she wore this tiara, so it could be borrowed by any of their wealthy friends of more probably from some jeweler.

She didn't like to wear any jewelry that had been previously worn by any lady who was in their circle of friends. For example, when she decided to give back the Russian Emerald parure to King Peter II to sell it (which was her property at that time), as he needed money, she stipulated that it could not be sold to any person, but just to the jewelers as she didn't want to get into any awkward situation and wanted to prevent that any lady might wear her jewels at an event that they might attend together in the future.

The only thing she borrowed from a person was her wedding dress, as they married during the war, in a hurry and didn't have much time to prepare it. Her wedding dress was borrowed to her by Princess Mary, wife of her cousin and her husbands first cousin, Prince Vsevolod of Russia, who wore the same dress at her wedding. Alexandra opted not to wear a tiara at her wedding as didn't want to look taller than her husband, as she already was taller than him.

Sorry for bigger post, but those are some kind of interesting details regarding jewels that I read in her book.

I wonder what's the story behind CP Katherine's tiara. Probably it was bought for her, but is it an antique piece or a new one? I'm glad that she has at least this small tiara at her disposal.

The halo tiara worn by Crown Princess Alexandra looks so distinctly art deco, it's a style that we don't see that often in tiaras. It must have been a really modern look at the time.
