I think it's a "new" brooch! I've never seen it before

Lovely seeing the rubies out!

I'm probably in the minority but the Burmese Ruby Tiara is one of my least favourite of the queens.

Too pity that of all the fantastic jewels she pointed her Royal Finger to the cassette with the "redesigned" rubies. Together with the "redesigned" sapphires and the "redesigned" aquamarines, in the top 3 of most ugly "designs" in the Queen's collection. It is beyond understanding that amazing and eyepopping beauties as Meghan's or Eugenie's bridal diadems were gathering dust in all these decades, because the Queen preferred those clumsy pieces. A most peculiar taste in jewelry, HM has...

:previous: This is going to be a fun one to figure out whence it came and what it is!

HM is wearing the George IV diadem, the Coronation necklace and QMs collet earrings for the State Opening of Parliament today.

I went to see Elton John in concert tonight. Fabulous, just wonderful.

He wore three different outfits. For his second ensemble, he wore a floral dinner jacket with wide black lapels. On the left lapel, he wore a giant replica of The Queen Mother's Courtauld Shell Brooch! It was huge! The shell part was about seven inches in diameter and the fringe was quite long. It was centered by a clear stone, not a pearl, but there was no mistaking the design!

The Queen wore the Vladimir tiara with emeralds, a new emerald necklace, Greville Emerald Earrings and diamond and emerald bracelets from The Queen Mother's Cartier Bracelet Quintet on December 11:

Wow! What a necklace. I am sure it can be worn with just the emerald and diamond squares. But, the addition of the emerald drops to that necklace make it an absolute magnificent addition to the vault. Now, if only we knew where the necklace came from . . . .

The DM, true to its reputation for accurate reporting, described the Queen's necklace accurately but then went on to tell us the Vladimir tiara was worn with its pearl drops instead of its emeralds..

Wow! Are my thoughts too. At first I thought the necklace was The Godman emerald necklace. I had to look it up and no nothing like it. I have never seen those earrings before. I wonder if they are a design by the Queen. She has done some designing before.
The design of the necklace is very Russian or should I say similiar to what the Grand Duchesses used to wear. The Grand Duchess Vladimir aka Maria Pavlovna had an emerald necklace very similiar to this without the drops. Only i thought the square settings were larger. Anyway that one sold at auction for 6 million as part of Liz Taylors collection.
Last nights jewels makes me wonder if they are part of a parure that includes the Kokoshnic tiara that Princess Eugenie wore for her wedding.
So here we are guessing again.
