How come Lalla Salma doesn't wear her tiara for any gala events? She wears her other extravagent jewelry and I've seen her Moroccan sister in-laws wear their tiara's but not her, the only time I've seen Salma wear her tiara is for her wedding. Does anybody know why that is?

I noticed there wasn't a thread for Lalla Salma of Morocco here and her jewelry box is getting quite extensive, so with that, here is a place to celebrate all the wonderful jewels that she wears.

She has a long shape of face, I think this kind of earings don't help her face shape. I like when she wears shorter shape or semi round of earings because its help reduce her long face looking.

I love these kind of earings on her (post by Amira) http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/alfrikissa/?action=view&current=LScloseup2.jpg, http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/alfrikissa/?action=view&current=m-lalla_salma_b.jpg, http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/alfrikissa/?action=view&current=m-salma.jpg

Lalla Salma's jewelries are really very magnificence and beautiful!!!:flowers:

hasna caftan is the best, it's traditional and stylish. very beautiful.
the king sister jewells are all appropriate for their caftans. they are discret and beautiful.
salma caftan is ok but the tight nicklace around her neck and big mass of hair on her head are too much :ermm:

The "tight necklace" is called a choker and is a very common piece of royal jewellery. Princess Diana wore chokers of similar design.

Chockers might be considered fashionable or a classic by old baroness or british princesses or even ghotic dressers. They are definitely not appropriate for a moroccan princess :).

I'm intrigued!
Exactly what is it about this style of jewellery that makes it "fashionable or classic" for a British Princess, but "definitely not appropriate" for a Moroccan Princess?

i understand well what you mean layla27. this design isn't common in morocco. there are some worn by berber but they are very different.

what i don't like (personal opinion) is the combination of hair up and the chocker tight around her neck. it shows her neck even longer and the look stretched.

diana wore it beautifuly. short hair and her face shape gives softness for the look.

There are certains types and styles of jewlery that are worn with a Kaftan, and some styles are more appropriate for old ladies than for young one. Most moroccan ladies know about it and know the Do's and Don'ts. This one is a Do not unless you are 60 years old :).

Wow thanks guys! I thought Salma's choker and earrings were saphires like Diana's set but I guess they're emeralds, very beautiful!

And Mademoiselle Lilo Salma's necklace in your pics, is that a design or an Arabic word?

Why is it inappropriate? I thought it was beautiful on her neck. On one hand Moroccans want their king to modernize and on the other hand as soom as Salma or someone breaks tradition - you hear complaints. You can't wear a choker until you are 60 years old in Morocco?

Ok! Now jewelry is also a matter of nationality?!!! I'm just shocked! How can you say such things?!!!
