HRH Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg is only 15 years old but she still has some very pretty jewelry. :)

From her parents' Silver Wedding Anniversary, a very pretty necklace (From P.P.E.): http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=253146&d=1151833957

You can get a view of her bracelet in this picture (From Getty Images): http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=253091&d=1151792991

Alexandra is such a pretty girl and can pull off pearls with such elegance and style and she's so young! I can't wait until she gets a tiara; I think she'd look stunning in one!

She is Pretty and wears the jewels well for one so young

I would like very much see her with a tiara... But I don´t imagine which will be her first my dear friend mims... Very nice your choice... but I think she´s moore simple... She´s still very young for wear a very important tiara...

Alexandra's Ring

hello

why the Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg wears a ring in his left hand

Princess Alexandra is a "her" but I understand what you mean. She's not engaged obviously, and some young girls (like me) just like to accessorize. She's a year older than I am, so she's definitely not engaged or anything. Maybe it was given to her by a bf, but more likely than not, it's just a pretty ring she likes. Can you produce a picture of the ring?

Similar to the "case" of CP Victoria of Sweden's ring.

I think she is probably just wearing it on that hand as an accessory. She probably wanted to wear a ring on each hand. It doesn't look like an engagement ring to me. She seems a bit young to be engaged, but who knows?

Exactly, I mean Queen Anne Marie became engaged at 15 to King Constantine... but it does seem a little unlikely in this case.

She's not engaged. An engagement would have been announced. And that ring definitely doesn't look like an engagement ring. It looks kinda cheap and has a star on it, so yeah, I'm guessing no. ;)

I know that peole in Germany wear a wedding ring on their right hand instead of their left hand so presumably its the same in Luxembourg therefore freeing up the left hand to wear dress jewellery.

This young Princess just starts her public life and they are already speculations about ther ring..

this year was the first time she wore a tiara
is there a photo and is it a tiara that has been worn before by the family?

It could even be a promise ring. They are very strongly Catholic after all...

miss KALIMA in your opinion that every one wear a ring in the right hand is engaged !!!!!!!!
All the girls like me and you we wear rings in the right hand of the left hand but that doesnt mean that we are engaged or married !!!!!!!!
it a simple accessory !!!!

What's a promise ring? I'm with those who think this is a simple accessory. Must be tough being a princess. Can't wear a ring without rumours flying!

A promise ring is a ring that is given as a 'promise' that one day the couple will agree to become engaged. As in, "we're not engaged yet but plan on becoming engaged."

It could be that perhaps the ring just fits her left hand better. My left hand fingers are slightly smaller than my right (I know it's weird) which makes wearing rings on my left hand more comfortable.

Everyone"s right hand fingers are bigger than their left hands"s fingers.

It looks a little like an Irish Claddagh ring. Here in the U.S., they were very popular with teenaged girls back when I was in high school. Depending on which hand you wore them on and which way you pointed them supposedly indicated whether you had a boyfriend, were going steady, etc.

Sounds complicated! Do you have an example picture of a Claddagh ring? So we can compare and contrast.

Wikipedia has a pretty good picture and explanation: Claddagh ring - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

The Wiki entry describes how wearing it in different directions or on either hand symbolizes various relationship statuses, although I wouldn't read too much into that. IIRC, the girls in my school often disagreed about what it all meant, so Alexandra's friends may also understand that it means something entirely different from what Wikipedia says it does.

I think that it is popular here in the USA for teenagers to wear some kind of virginity ring - they promise to remain "pure" until marriage -
It is some kind of teen-age fad which is very popular now -

I've heard about that in the US, but never in Europe (and never here in the UK).

I think that may be more regional than national, because the teenagers in my area (East Coast) pretty much mock that stuff as being a very conservative, unsophisticated thing to do.

Not to mention that Princess Alexandra would probably not share things like that "with the world." And by wearing some kind of virginity ring she would kind of be sharing it.
