The forthcoming auction of the Anglesey tiara and a fascinating story surrounding the fifth Marquis.
This would make brilliant film.

One of the Marquess's employees stole £50,000 worth of his family jewels in 1901 which I don't think were ever recovered.
The diamond tiara is stunning.

I got the impression that the one about to be auctioned was the only one still in the family but this is only conjecture on my part.

Diana, Duchess of Wellington dancing at the The Daffodil Ball in 1987. Is anything known about her impressive pearl and diamond demi-parure?

I love Lady Campbell's long pearl necklace in the second picture. Do you suppose it's real?

Her former husband gave an interview in 2016. He called her a complete snob and laughed that she kept saying she was related to royalty through him. As he pointed out 'I am not related to the queen so how does that work?'.
People seem to get confused since Princess Louise was married to a Duke of Argyle that there is a royal connection. Forgetting Louise had no children. Her husband John was the 9th Duke. Ivar's father Ian was the 11th Duke of Argyll. Ian's grandfather Walter was John's younger brother (the 10th duke Niall was a son of another brother).
Lady Collin is a reality star want to be who keeps her title and milks it for all its worth. She bought a castle, and parades around in expensive jewels, to make herself out to be some aristocrat.

Not 100% sure if true, but THIS convertible diamond necklace really reminds me of the one Elizabeth II borrowed from Lord Plunket for the Fanfare of Europe celebrations in 1973.
Note the little shamrocks running along the tiara, possibly a reference to the Plunkets Irish background (provided the tiaras are the same). We know that at some point the 7th Baron sold the tiara, as he wasn't particularly fond of the design...

Lady Colin Campbell's Jewels
The writer Lady Colin Campbell has a collection of jewels, that according to this website are worth many millions. Apparently you can order items from the collections for six figures via this website. Is this is a usual arrangement for an aristocrat/royal? Wouldn't it be more usual to sell a specific piece via Christie's or Sotheby's?
