Well, it seems the above tiara is made of white gold and is not the Diamond Fringe Tiara.... :)

Danjel! Another set of mystery jewels! This time sapphires (at least I think they are sapphires) ...oh, how I love sapphires! Do you know if these belonged to Grace?

Hi Brandy,

Yep, it was made of white gold, so therefore no stones. :)

Original caption: 4/23/1956-Monaco: Prince Ranier and actress Grace Kelly arrive for a gala performance at the Royal Opera House April 18th after their civil wedding ceremony earlier in the day. The actress wore a sparkling tiara and a diamond and ruby necklace presented to her by her new subjects.

Are Princess Grace's tiaras being held for Albert's wife? It seems a shame that Stephanie or Caroline can't borrow them until he gets married.

Actually, Caroline sold a number of Grace's jewels several years ago. I'm not sure which pieces she sold but she very well might have sold several of Grace's tiaras. Caroline uses the Pearl and Diamond Tiara that her grandmother gave her and the Fringe Tiara as a necklace. Grace was never allowed to wear these pieces as Princess Charlotte was not in the least bit fond of her.

I believe that Stephanie has worn some diamond earrings that belonged to Grace at several Red Cross Balls.

Why in the world did she sell them? The family is supposed to have a goodly amount of money. Surely her father could have helped her out?

I think Caroline sold them just after Stefano died and had many debts. Still, it's no excuse for selling Grace's things.

If I was Rainer I'd have bought them (annoymously) just so they'd stay in the family. They don't have that many jewels for people to start selling them!

Did Caroline inherit all of Grace's tiaras, or just her grandmother Charlotte's?
If Stephanie "cleans up her act" will she recieve a tiara, or if they're still in the family, be allowed to wear one? I think she's the only daughter of a soverign that hasn't worn a tiara!

Julia,
Could you share the articles or addresses for the articles that discuss Caroline's sale of some of her mother's jewelry?
Thanks.
Chav

Why was Grace not allowed to wear those jewels? Just becaues Charlotte didn't like her?
