Wow, the Braganza tiara looks so glittering in movement! But because the camera follows Queen Louise, we can’t make out the people behind her properly. But I think that the next lady is Princess Sibylla with the aquamarine tiara now owned by Princess Margareta. The lady who is walking in front of Princess Margareta is the Duchess of Devonshire (Lady of the Bedchamber of QEII) with the Devonshire diamond tiara and her sapphire necklace. Who is the Princess behind Princess Margarea? Is it Birgitta? I thought that I saw something glittering in her hair, but it is not clearly recognizable.

Can you find another pic of her wearing the tiara? The link won't work.

Earlier today I came across this photograph of Crown Princess Margareta wearing the Khedive tiara.
As the photograph is out of copyright it can be reproduced here.

What a beautiful portrait of CP Margareta. Amazing how the tiara is nestling on that wagon wheel hair. It’s a pity that the watermark covers the corsage ornament. Could it be the corsage brooch with pink tourmalines?

It is wonderful to see these old portraits re-surface after such a long time. I wonder if someday a picture of her with her ruby wedding gift parure will be found. That would make my day :flowers:.

Yes, the placing of the tiara onto all that hair is something that imressed me as well :) It almost looks like the tiara might fall with even the slightest movement of HRH's head. BTW, the photograph just screams Edwardian! So amazingly beautiful and refined :) Any ideas when it might've been taken? Maybe not long after the wedding?
Tilia, I totally agree about a photo with the rubies. That would be spectacular ;)
Is it known if Crown Princess Margareta owned a corsage brooch with pink tourmalines? If so, that would be new to me :)

Could well be. Is it known when Queen Victoria got them as they came into the swedish RF via the Baden Family. If Queen Victoria inherited them after the death of her mother it can not be the pink tormalines on CP Margaretha as Grand Duchess Luise lived until 1923.
Yes a pic with the rubies would be great especially with not only the tiara but the necklace which is lost.

I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I thought I knew all of the jewelry in the Swedish royal house, but today I stumbled upon a tiara I havent seen before:

Desirée also wore it to her sister Christina's wedding, and I'm wondering if anyone knows where it comes from? If it used to belong to the Swedish royal family and is now privately owned by Desirée or if it's a completely new tiara with no provenance. I know that Margareta was given the aquamarine kokoshnik tiara as a wedding gift and that each sister got their own tiara as a wedding gift; was this Desirée's? :)

Hi,
This is the khedive of Egypt tiara that is now in the possession of HM Queen Anna Maria of Greece. This is also the bridal tiara of all of the female descendants of the Danish house.

that would be a good first tiara IMO
I hope it will go back the the main family
or it would be bought back later on

the brosch i dont know

i am wondering about the coursage vrosch worn by victoria, does anyone know more about it

are the stars part of the dress or brosches?

Very interesting picture, I have not seen it before.
Might it be the same jewel which Princess Ingrid wore at the wedding of her cousin Astrid with King Leopold of the Belgians? Princess Ingrid was very young at the time, only 16. So I long thought that it might just be a headband. But maybe it is a diamond necklace?

does it not look like two rows of string of pearls?

Here are photos of Queen Louise wearing various tiaras and jewels:

1 2 3 4 5

I assume she never wore the Cameo or Connaught tiaras.

Thank you for the links, Josefine.
Can you please translate what Mr. Bolin says about the tiara of Alice Trolle-Wachtmeister? I have often seen her wear this tiara, but never heard or read about this tiara before. Does he speak of the origin?
