There's not really a lot of what I would call solid information on Andrea out there. More often than not it's the same old stories repeated over and over - no evidence to back them up. Even his children didn't have much to say about him - or perhaps they weren't asked?
I just find this interesting as an example of popular perception of him

Philip talks to her and she seems lip reading and understand normally and this match the information we know. He would not talk to her normally If he knew she did not understand.
As for the period of her youth, around 1890, when she was found deaf, was the sign language already developed? Out of some specialist, was it known among normal people, even if royals?
And a last point. She was able to read lips in 4 language, but which language did she speak? For a person who never heard, like she was, how did she learn to talk?
Someone had to spent time to teach her.. I can presume her mother did it for German and English, but what about French and Greek? This happened after her 20s and out of her home. Was it her husband? Did she hire a specialist? For Greek it is possible, but French? She was broken and in exile.

It doesn't seem that Alice was profoundly deaf. She could hear some things under some circumstances, just obviously not well. She did try to begin speaking on her own, but she was slow at it and didn't make much sense. (That was when her clever grandmother Princess Battenberg took her to an ear specialist.) It's not mentioned who taught her to lip read, specifically, but having a Greek tutor at the age of 18 wouldn't really be any different than any language tutor for any incoming hearing princess.
Also if I recall correctly, her biography says she lip read three languages (English, German, Greek). I'm not sure about French, but she seems to have managed okay in Paris for several years, anyway, at least until she became ill.

Prince Andrew was buried firstly at St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral in Nice and its completion had been financed by Tsar Nicholas II .The south of France was a popular holiday destination for the Russian elite and nobility.
After the War the remains of Prince Andrew were returned to Greece for reburial at Tatoi.

yes she did. Alice visited Russia in 1901, and 1908. I think she was close to her aunt Ella and even though she only visited Russia twice, they met many times at Hesse-Darmstadt. In the 1901 visit (before marriage) I saw a picture of her with Maria and Dimitri Pavalovich and Helen.

The sisters also used to get together at Ella's place Illinskoje on the Gulf of Finland. I believe Alice was there several times.

When she was a little girl, Princess Alice stayed in different places between Darmstadt, London, Jugenheim, and Malta.

There’s only one noted mistress so assuming that there were more is speculative. Not unlikely, but only there is one noted person
