BUT she said that Constantino could to stand for elections to the elections in Greece,I disappointed she because I think that she knew the elections law of Greece says that for to stand for eleciones is need have greek nationality , she was confused because Constantine does not have Greek nationality..

There's another Kaiser Willem II connection with Constantine II, the Kaiser was his great grandfather. The Kaiser's only daughter Viktoria Luise was the mother of Queen Frederika, Constantine's mother.

Sophia also competed in the Rome Olympics in sailing. She competed as Princess Sophia of Greece, but she didn't win a medal.

I am not familiar with that statement of Dora Bakoyiannis regarding K Constantine. When Karamanlis was still alive and was Prime Minister Dora was still very young and not involved in politics at the time.
Could there be someplace where I can read what she allegedly said about elections? It is true than no one can run unless they are Greek citizens and the royal family carry Danish passports.

You are correct. Both of Consantine's parents are direct descendants of the Kaiser.
I am not aware of Sofia's Olympic competition. Interesting to hear about it.

You are absolutely correct. I misspoke. P Sofia was the Kaiser's sister. Princess Louise was his daughter. Sofia married K Constantine's grandfather and Louise was his mother's mother...........

i read it in a greek newspaper, but it said that it was a interview of her in a danish newspaper, i don`t renember it but t could be jyllands-posten, it was when queen margaret was of vsit in greece

Sofia was on the reserve team only. I'm not sure if she actually competed.

King Pavlos died while there was still a Monarchy in Greece and was buried in Tatoi. When Q Frederica died in Spain, the GRF received a special permision by the then Socialist government to allow them to bring her remains in Greece and bury her there, provided they only stayed in the country a few houres. This was widely publicised.
The King and Queen spend part of their summers in a rented house in Porto Heli and they were in Patmos for Olga's wedding last week.
However, I never heard or read that they own or rent a house in Athens.

I think that it is true. They have rented a house in Athens ... or near Athens.
They work at the foundation and the Foundation has office in Athens, they are not going to be traveling constantly from Porto Heli to Athens. In summer in Porto Heli, in September in Athens and working on the foundation

LOL Do not put this past me. Once in London I stopped a gentleman and asked him to direct me to the address at Hampstead. He looked at me strangely and asked who I was looking for. I said.......some relatives.....He said Are you related to the King of the Hellenes?? I was floored. He told me his uncle sold the house to the GRF and told me exactly how to get there. I managed to make it and as soon as I got near the security lights went on and it is in a cul de sac so I had to turn the car around (shift) and high tail it out of there in no time flat.......Mind you all along driving at the "wrong" side of the street. So Athens has no secrets for us!!!

I´ve been in love with Greece and the GRF since I was a little girl and would read avidly all those news in Paris Match, Jours de France, Point de Vue, all the way in distant Manaus, Amazonas.

A "funny" and rather embarassing incident took place during a party last month.Poly Hatzioannou,the Cyprian shipowner,has bought the ex-house of Konstantinos in Psychiko (a "high-society" region in Athens) from his brother,Stelios Hatzioannou.Poly and his wife,Rosemary,invited all their famous and rich friends,including Konstantinos and Anna-Maria,to celebrate.So far so good....Until Poly and Rosemary started talking about their new home and how they are going to decorate it and how beautiful it's going to be,blah blah blah....in front of the ex-King and Queen,who remained silent all night and a little bit shocked of course...

However this was never K C villa. The Psyhiko villa was occupied by Queen Frederika and Princess Irene when not in Tatoi, after the wedding of KC & Q AM. It was bought by Hadjioannou back in the late 70's
I do not know if you recall or ever heard the gossip about the Herodus Atticus Palace after the referendum of 1974. It was turned over to the then President of the Republic and his wife went in and started re decorating it because those Royals had no taste.

It is behind the Houses of Parliament on Herodus Atticus Ave. Is that what they call it now? This is where the President has his offices and receives the foreign dignitaries.
During the Olympics the President had a reception for the IOC members and KC & Q AM were among the guests.
