Golden wedding anniversary, Sept. 18th 2014

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Why? BFR and GRF are very close. The Queen attended KKII anniversary in London, a few years ago. The less major members, like the Kents and Gloucesters why not?

Let's not forget that the Kents are half-Greek through Princess Marina. But I don't see them on the guest list though there are some from the Brandram family.

One thing that puzzles me about the guest list is that the wife of Prince Michael is listed as HRH Princess Marina. Is it a typo or has her status been changed?

Maybe the reason for members of the BRF not attending is the referendum today? It might reflect badly upon them if they partied while the future of their country was being decided.

Queen Elizabeth II,occasionally , has authorized to represent the royal house , in public acts, to Kents and Gloucester's . I remember that the appointment of the new Pope Francisco were in representation of the royal house of Britain', the Gloucesters . the referendum has interest to them.

I´m more than annoyed that none of the grandchildren, not even the elder ones, seem to attend!

Was Princess Benedikte's husband on the list, maybe I missed him?

Queen Sophia and Queen Anne Marie were wonderful!!!!:p:p:p:p and Princess Tatiana!!!:p:p:p and Marie Chantal was elegant:p:p, but I love Princess Alexia:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

It is a formal evening event, they did not invite the younger that 18 (Maria Olympia's age)

Well, they always point out this was a private celebration, not a state occasion. In "normal" families even toddlers join in the silver or golden weddings of their grandparents...
So why shouldn´t a 14, 16 year old not attend a "formal" dinner held within the family?! By the way I didn´t notice grown-up Maria Olympia, too!:ermm:

Look at what Zimbio/ Getty says:
Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia and Katherine, Crown Princess of Greece arrives for a private dinner organized by former King Constantine II of Greece and former Queen Anne-Marie to celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary at the Yacht Club of Greece in Piraeus, Greece, 18 September 2014.

The CP of Serbia is "of Yugoslavia" and his wife is the CPss of Greece.....!!! Shame on you, Zimbio!
I do love this one, though: Golden Wedding Anniversary in Greece - Pictures - Zimbio

I don't understand on the 2 Group Pictures of the 2 Events Prince Nikolaos and his wife are missing.
We see them only with T. 's mother.

So finally the Palmas did not attend, although it was announced beforehand?????
I wonder why?

The pictures are lovely and it must have been very special for Their Majesties to have the celebrations in Greece. Even the service in Athens Cathedral seemed very regal.

It is such a shame that none of their grandchildren attended! A lovely family picture to mark the milestone would be wonderful.

Was there? Any pics from the service?! I´ve been seeing only photos from the 2 evening events.
I find Queen AM was still the most beautiful of all women assembled (sorry, younger princesses!)!

After the religious ceremony, was celebrated a lunch with the guests in the gardens of the Britain Hotel. Queen Margrethe had arrived that morning to the Hotel. In the ceremony, the Orthodox church recovered two thrones with coat of Greek royal family, these thrones were in the 1964 ceremony, look at the picture.

Yes, as long as there´s no monarchy in Greece, they´ll be the last king and queen. And no, Pavlos and MC will definitely not be styled King and Queen. No kingdom, no King and Queen.

Well, there must have been some little coverage:
