THE ROYAL FORUMS NEWSLETTER


In May we celebrate two first-year wedding anniversaries, Frederik and Mary of Denmark and Felipe and Letizia of Spain. Throughout the year, we watched each couple work together, laugh together and grow together. We witnessed the deepening bonds of love and friendship bring two individuals closer together as a couple. The two Princes, we knew well, but the young Princesses were enigmas. They soon surprised us with their intelligence, poise, maturity and beauty like two beautiful butterflies emerging from their cocoons.

Though some people believe these princesses live fairy-tale lives, we know otherwise. It takes hard work and discipline being crown princesses (crown princes too), but their rewards can be infinite. Happy anniversary to both couples.

ROYAL QUICK HITS


April 25 officially marked a baby boom amongst the European royal houses with not one, but two official announcements of great expectations from the Danish and Norwegian royal courts. In Denmark, just a few weeks shy of their first wedding anniversary, it was announced that Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary would be expecting their first child in October. Crown Princess Mary’s first official act since the announcement will take place May 5. From the Norwegian court, it was announced that Crown Prince Haakon, who is acting as regent at present while his father recuperates from heart surgery, and his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit are expecting their second child this December. Some changes have been made to Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s schedule as she is experiencing a difficult first trimester.
