I found the avatar gallery, and I managed to put up an avatar for myself - but it's not really the one I want. I would like to change it, but I can't figure out how to do that. How do you change your avatar?

If you want another avatar from the gallery, find the avatar you want and click on the circle below it. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Save Changes" button.
If you've found an avatar you want to use but it isn't in the gallery, you need to use the Custom Avatar option (below the galleries). You have the option to upload the avatar to your computer and add it by using the Browse button or the option to add it as a URL (for example if you've stored it at Photobucket or somewhere like that). Then when you've filled in the appropriate field, click the Save Changes button.
If you're still having problems, just drop a PM to one of the admins, who can probably change it for you.

yes, there are. When you get to the avatar gallery click on the pull-down menu at the top and select Monaco. Then you can through the pages and there are several avatars of Charlotte.

Not sure if this is where this question goes - but how do I put a quote at the end of my post that shows up whenever I post? Thanks!

You can click on User CP (on the toolbar near the top of the page, 6th option from the left). When you select this, you will see a menu on the left-hand side of the page. One of the options is "Edit Signature". If you select this, you will be able to add or edit your signature. This is the quote that would show up at the bottom of your posts. After you set up your signature, you will see a small box on the right-hand side of the quick reply screen (the one that you type your posts in). It should have a check mark in it. The box says, "show your signature".
Hope this helps!

new avatar
I don't know if it's right place to ask
question: could the forum create more avatars, or at least one new avatar of princess Alexandra of Monaco, Caroline's daughter. existing avatars are kind of old. there are great new pics of Alexandra from THE PRINCESS ANTOINETTE GARDEN event in Monaco thread.

Your better off asking in the Monaco avatar thread found here
Members post avatars or do a few when they have the time and upload them.
If you have a certain picture you'd like you can always PM a member who is good at avatars or post the picture in the avatar thread and maybe someone will do a few for you

I have a question, I'm a new member and successfully uploaded an image I had in my computer as my avatar, it does show up on the profile page and all, but it doesn't show up next to my name in my posts. Is there something wrong that I'm doing without noticing? Thank you in advance!

Your avatar is sized 100 x 100. It should be 80 x 80. Try reducing the size then reloading.

open your picture with the paint program put the cursor where you want the words to go click on the color you want then click on abc then type your name. In some pictures I have made a plain white square box then typed my name in the box. When your finished make sure you save it in the form you want, ie gif jpg pnp.

To resize a picture in windows picture viewer open the picture in that program and click on "crop picture". After you have resized your picture click on save as on the file button on the top left of your screen. Make sure you make the format of your picture to a gif jpg or pnp. After you save your picture go back to the picture gallery and put your cursor over the picture and leave it there for a minute, you will have a box pop up telling you the format of the picture and the size and the kb or mb. You can then decide if you want to keep it or delete it.

There are some new ones in the Avatars, Fanart & Wallpaper thread in the British Forums.

I'm wondering about something... When I create avatars and make sure they're the right size etc. I ran into problems when I upload them here. Is there some kind of extra compression used on this forum when one uploads an image? The avatars are crisp and clear before I upload them but then some kind of algorithm is being used and boom - the avatar comes out smudgy and blurry. A funny thing happened when I tried to change the avatar yesterday. The one I had here before seemed okay but after trying out new pics I uploaded the old one back to my user profile and noticed that the image quality worsened considerably. I would really like it if the image quality stayed the same as I intended it.
