She is no longer seen in public and missed on many occasions. This is a clear sign that a divorce has taken place. An announcment isnt nesessary to notice a breakup of the royal couple.
By the way: In the Moroccan royal house the wives of the king were never present in public in the past. It has changed with Lalla Salma. Now it seems they are back to the roots...

Much as I would love to see Lalla Salma again we have to respect that Morocco is not the UK and, unlike Diana, she herself may be quite happy to not be in the spotlight anymore. I'm just sorry she cannot or decided not to continue to work with her charities because she is "known" and that can only help them to continue regardless.

But his sisters were present I think? Why are they allowed to be public?

Lalla Salma wasnt a princess by birth. She got her royal role by marriage and lost this position by divorce.
The sisters of the king are princesses by birth and keep this role for life. During an international visit with high-ranking ladies arriving they take over the host role for the female guests of the royal family.

The king sisters will continue to take this role as long as he will remain unmarried. His daughter Lalla Khadija will join them in future.

I can imagine that given the fact that Moroccan royal wives were always previously so private and that divorce is unusual in the Moroccan RF's culture, we won't hear an official announcement from the court so will just be "relying" on other reports.

So if his wife was a princess would she be able to be present?

I guess people are just more curious or expectant of some sort of confirmation considering how the King broke tradition to give his wife a title and official public role, whereas traditionally his wife's only role would be private and barely/never seen.

Perhaps she can do so as a princess but the first lady`s duties will remain confined to the king`s closest female relatives ( his daughter & sisters)

Confusing! So why they leak the divorce news in the first place?

Probably because the gossip had become so outrageous that a "sighting" was essential. I believe they majorly underestimated how high Lalla Salma's international standing was and how badly her sudden disappearance reflects on the MRF.

I don't know but i start to believe there is no divorce but only separation and big fall out between the couple,if there is a legal divorce would be announced by now by the palace especially after all crazy rumours and gossips that damaged really hard the King and the monarchy image inside and outside Morocco..Imo

That i agree with, PR has never been the Moroccan court strong quality but this is a whole new level of failure from their part..and when the young Hassan Ourid was elemnated from his position as Palace spokman and replaced by someone (Abdelhak Lamrini) from the old generation from Hassan II old guard obviously that was a steep or several steeps behind.

I think we can say that they officially admit their divorce
Mohammed VI and Lalla Salma address an update consedering Gala article
https://mobile.ledesk.ma/2019/07/21/...au-point-gala/
Quote:
In an unusual outing, French royal palace lawyer Eric Dupond-Moretti, in the name of King Mohammed VI and Princess Lalla Salma, made an update to people magazine "Gala" accused of relaying "assertions serious "on the royal family.
A first. Through their French lawyer, Eric Dupond-Moretti, Mohammed VI and Lalla Salma jointly reacted Saturday, July 20 to the publication of an article published by the magazine Gala people. "The King of Morocco Mohammed VI and his ex-wife Lalla Salma are jointly aware that rumors of flight or kidnapping of children who have been circulating since the beginning of July are intolerable," adresses the Palace lawyer to the magazine of celebrities
These rumors are "firmly and formally contradicted" by the Alawite ruler and the princess, parents of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, 16, and Princess Lalla Khadija, 12,
.....the king and his wife are "scandalized", "in the face of these extremely serious assertions". "Mr Eric Dupond-Moretti is unqualified that they come from foreign sites spreading false information for malicious purposes", and recalls that this is an "act punishable by defamation", " adds the solicitor.
The comparison drawn with the escape of the princess Haya is also pointed out. "The comparison is based on nothing more than the fact that they are two princesses," says the lawyer of the monarch.....
