Sultan Jamalul Kiram III is old. So eventually his eldest daughter will take the helm. Princess Jacel Kiram is poised to become an iron lady.

Even today, the Muslim region governors seem to be powerless in front of assertive monarchs. And it's possible that the future Bangsamoro parliament will be as well. Hence, the future Bangsamoro state without the sultans having a big role in government is highly unlikely.

Actually, Brunei has an inactive ancient claim to both Luzon and Palawan...they are not trying to claim it at least not yet..
The cadet lineages of Bolkiah are still active in Philippine Politics..Binay and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo are descendants of Nakhoda Ragam Bolkiah of Brunei.

relation between Sultanate of Deli and Ottoman Dynasty ?
For your Information, our kingdom here in Southeast Asia (Indonesia) which named SULTANATE OF DELI also has an Ottoman's blood. The First King was believed a descendants of The Great Alexander (Iskandar Dzulkarnain) who is name is MUHAMMAD DALIKHAN he is shipwrecked in Aceh, Indonesia on his Trip to China. until now, my family still use the title of "DELIKHAN" in our name as a sign of Deli Royal Family Clan.

Iskandar Dzulkarnain is believed to be either Alexander the Great or Cyrus the Great. The Ottomans are descendants of the Kayi clan of the Oghuz Turks who originated in what is present-day Kazakhstan; no relation to Alexander or Cyrus, or to the Sultanate of Deli in present-day Indonesia.

What is "the PI"?
If you mean the Philippines, there was no Queen or Empress, as the Philippines as we know it today was made up of various Rajahnates and Sultanates.

The Philippines was under the rule of the King or Queen of Spain before the independence and the birth of the Philippine Republic in 1898. Philippines was a colony of Spain.

While he has not confirmed publicly that she is the crown princess, in Javanese culture where much is conveyed through symbolism rather than anything said out loud the signs are clear.
The title Mangkubumi, which translates from Indonesian as the one who holds the Earth, was the same one given to the sultan when he was made crown prince several decades ago.
She was also entrusted with the task of attempting to bring safety, happiness and prosperity to the world, another indication she would succeed her father.
And the sultan made small changes to his own lengthy royal title removing a word normally only used by men and tweaking another to make it gender-neutral, opening the door for a woman to take over.

It has sparked a furious row with his family, who say he is breaking rules laid down to govern the sultanate, amid speculation that his brothers were jockeying to fill his position.
A female sultan is an impossibility, the sultans cousin, Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung Jatiningrat, told AFP.
One symbol in this palace is a rooster so if we have a queen should we change it to a hen?
The rooster is a symbol of bravery.

About 90 percent of the family dont respect him anymore, raged Gusti Bendoro Pangeran Haryo Prabukusumo, a step-brother of the ruler who snubbed the event. -- AFP

The sultan may not be "saying anything out loud", but his family members most certainly are.

And stating that the queen and princesses are no longer member of the royal family once their husband/father dies?
Are only spouses and children of the current monarch members of the royal family in their opinion? If so, they currently aren't members themselves.

Good day fellow royalists!
As I have noticed upon reading through these forums for the past few months that there has not been any recent information on the Sultanate of Sulu, so kindly permit me to bring to light the legitimate Sultan of Sulu.
I shall not attempt to expound on preposterous historical data going back hundreds of years instead I will simply put forward publicly recorded materials not previously posted here on this forum. I enter them as evidence of the legitimacy of H.M. Sultan Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram, the 35th Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo.
The link below is from the Official Gazette of the Philippines pointing to Memorandum Order No. 427 issued by the Office of the President on May 10, 1974. The memorandum showcases the government's support for the coronation of Sultan Mohammad Mahakuttah Abdulla Kiram and recognizing him as the new Sultan of Sulu upon the death of his father Sultan Esmail Kiram. In this same coronation ceremony, Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram, Sultan Mahakuttah's eldest son and Sultan Esmail's grandson, was crowned "Raja Muda" or Crown Prince and heir-apparent of Sulu. A few days after, the new Sultan of Sulu and his family including Raja Muda Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram paid a courtesy call to then President Ferdinand Marcos as part of the recognition of their family as the hereditary monarchs of the Sultanate of Sulu. This courtesy call was published on the national newspaper Bulletin Today (now called Manila Bulletin) on May 26, 1974.

When Sultan Mahakuttah died in 1986, Raja Muda Muedzul-Lail was not of age to sit on the throne so opportunistic relatives took over and claimed it as their own. Unfortunately, many of these other claimants not only had more money but also more political clout so Sultan Muedzul-Lail was not able to fight for his throne despite his legitimacy.
This has not deterred other royal families to recognize him as the legitimate Sultan of Sulu. Among those that have acknowledged him include HRH Prince Vladimir Karadjordjevic of Yugoslavia, HM King Kigeli V and HM King Yuhi VI of Rwanda, HRH Prince Osman Rifat Ibrahim of Egypt and HRH Dom Duarte Pio of Portugal among others.
Aside from members of royal families, many distinguished persons also recognize him as the monarch of Sulu. These include Dr. Pier Felice degli Uberti of the International Commission for Orders of Chivalry and H.E. Lech Walesa, former President of Poland and Nobel Prize Winner.

Are any of the family members attending among the ones who were telling the media they intended to carry out a palace coup when the sultan dies?
