Looks like they equate a monarchy with hindu nationalism/a hindu nation; and putting their hopes on the king's 18-year old grandson (and clearly not his son nor the king himself) to be their future king. It would be consistent with the call in 2007 by the then prime minister to make way for Hridayendra (I guess a 5 year old couldn't do much wrong as a king in their minds).

I agree, even now it is more sensible to project their ideals a relatively blank slate. It is interesting too that their hopes for a restored monarchy apparently rely on the old male succession rather than the last-minute adoption of equal primogeniture before the monarchy was abolished.

So, they are back in Nepal? I thought they lived in Singapore... So, did they move back or is this just a visit to gain support for a more permanent return?

Is this their actual Facebook account or just a fan page? Because if it's real they're definitely drumming up support for a return to monarchy.

Did their daughter travel with them to India that she also got Covid-19; or did she pick it up from her parents on their return? And what about the crown prince?
The family seems prone to diseases at an early age (with the crown prince apparently having suffered 3 heart attacks and his sister a stroke - their grandfather died of a heart attach aged 51; and their grandmother at the age of 24 (due to complications at child birth of her 6th(!) child)); so that would most likely put them in a high-risk category; just like their parents based on their age.

Former King Gyanendra and Queen Komal Shah as well as daughter Prerna have been admitted to hospital following their Corona virus infection. While former King Gyanendra and daughter Prerna's conditions are stable, Queen Komal Shah had to be moved to the Intensive Care Unit with breathing related complications:

King Gyanendra released a video message stating that he and his wife Queen Komal are in full recovery. Issuing the message, he expressed his gratitude to all those who wished the couple well.
"Thanking all those who were at the forefront during the pandemic," the former King also said about the external assistance from other countries to help controlling the epidemic. He expressed concern over the pandemic situation inside and outside the country.
He also thanked for the international assistance. He urged everyone to stay safe, careful and healthy.
