AFP: Nepal's former king hits comeback trail
Legend has it that when Nepal's first king invaded what was to become the capital, Kathmandu, he did so during the autumn festival period, confident its inhabitants would be caught unprepared.
In recent weeks, some Nepalese have been wondering whether his descendant -- deposed king Gyanendra Shah -- might not have the same sort of idea.

Nepal's former Crown Prince in shooting incident
Nepal's former Crown Prince has admitted firing a gun after a drunken row with tourists in a restaurant.
Paras Shah - full name Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev - the former heir to the now abolished throne, has admitted to setting off the firearm after a late-night drinking session in a jungle holiday resort in the country.
A witness - who had to be escorted out by security staff when the former prince started shouting at guests - told news agency AFP: "I don't know what the discussion was about, but he was pretty annoyed. He was shouting and then he went outside and fired a round." - Female First

The royalists strike back!
Sify News - Nepal ex-Crown Prince's gun brawl case gets sequel
Kathmandu, Dec 23 (IANS) Nine days after Nepal's controversial former crown prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah was arrested following reports that he was involved in a gun brawl with an influential minister's son-in-law, royalists struck back Thursday, asking the apex court for an inquiry into the victim's 'questionable' activities.
Dayendra Bahadur Thakuri, district chief of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, the only party in parliament to support the monarchy, Thursday filed a public interest litigation against Rubel Chowdhury, the son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala, who had alleged he was threatened by a gun-toting Paras during a drinks-driven dispute in a hotel earlier this month but later retracted his allegation.
The Supreme Court admitted the petition and ordered a hearing to start Friday.
Times of India - Nepal ex-crown prince Paras seeks his pound of flesh
23 Dec 2010. More than two years after Nepal's major political parties decided to abolish monarchy, the deposed royal family still remains a formidable adversary. It was brought home Thursday when the headline-grabbing tangle between ousted crown prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah and the son-in-law of the deputy prime minister threatened to become a costly affair for the latter.
A little-known farmer in northern Sindhupalchowk became the slighted former crown prince's avenging angel on Thursday when he fired a fresh volley against Rubel Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi national and son-in-law of Sujata Koirala, who is also the foreign minister of Nepal.

Deposed crown prince Paras Bir Bikram Shah, hated by people for his arrogance and drink-driven rages, was ordered by a district chief to tender a written apology.
Last year, the 39-year-old former heir to Nepal’s throne had become embroiled in a gun battle in a jungle resort, where he allegedly fired in the air after brawling with the son-in-law of a powerful politician.
However, the Chitwan district, where the incident had taken place, could not press serious charges against Paras after the victim developed cold feet.
In the end, the district chief dismissed the case, saying as this was a first offence, Paras would have to provide a written undertaking agreeing not to repeat the act in future. - The Peninsula Qatar

People will probably want the abolition of Republic because only Monarchy can bring peace to Nepal.

Maybe Prince Paras is not the most popular person of the Royal Family but the chaos brought by the republicans will probably mean more to the people.

The 'chaos' has begun with the brutal and unsolved murder of the beloved King and Queen of Nepal and the other RF members on June 1st 2001. And then 'chaos' continued with King Gyanendra's unwise rule and local police killing people.
Try to read this, Cory. Every monarch's decision has its' consequences.
