Ex-Queen Farida in the eighties

Queen Narriman and King Faroek with their son Foead in 1953, just after their exile

Before Narriman married to the King, she was already engaged, to Mr. Zaki Hachian, a UN-diplomat. He was ordered by the King to brake off the engagement.

After her divorce from King Faroek, Narriman remarried an Egyptian doctor, Mr. Adham el-Nakib in May 1954

By the time of his death in 1965, King Faroek had a girlfriend, namely Irma Capece Minutolo from Napoli

In February 1965 Princess Fadia of Egypt married in London to Pierre Orloff, a russian geologist. Because of the fact that Orloff was not muslim, Faroek was very much against this marriage

A year later Faroek couldn't prohibit a marriage anymore (since he had passed away) when his daughter, Princess Ferial married a Swiss owner of a hotel, Mr. Jean-Pierre Perreten

In 1950 Princess Fathia, sister of King Faroek, married in California to Mr. Riad Ghali, a coptic Egyptian, who became muslim, Faroek however thought he was not good enough.

How terribly sad. Queen Nazli is buried in a Catholic cemetary just a few miles from my office in Culver City, California; perhaps I'll pay a visit one day soon. Is it true that she converted to Catholicism? Did her daughter as well?

May I just ask, why did the recent Egyptian kings always marry and then quicky divorce??? They marry 2 or 3 times, but divorce the wives within a coupler of years. Also why the King wanted to marry Queen Narriman and why did he divorce her right after she gave him a son?

Does anyone have news about his children/grandchildren or was it the end of line with the death of King Faroek? Does any one know?

Princess Nesrine of Egypt

Who is Princess Nesrine Toussoun of Egypt? How is she related to the ERF? She often appears at the Capetians events in Paris but I cant work out who she is.

King Farouk had three daughters by his first wife, Queen Farida:
Princesses Fawzia, Feryal and Fadia (d 2002),
and a son by his second wife, Queen Narriman:
Prince Ahmed Fouad (1952- ), titular King of Egypt 1952-3.

Fouad (II) has three children:
Hereditary Prince Mohamed Ali (1979- )
Prince Fakhr-el-Din (1987- )
Princess Fawzia Latifa (1982- )

He is divorced from his French wife, Dominique Picard, Queen Fadila.

Mandy, I must admit that my main source of info for the current generation has been Point de Vue. They took an ongoing interest in the family because King Fouad's wife was French. Apart from the death of Princess Fadia, the most recent update was back in January 2002. Since the divorce their interest has evaporated!

On October 1977 married Fouad of Egypt Fadila Dominique Picard in the Palace of monaco. On 5 Februar 1979 their son Mohammed Ali was born in Cairo after they had a special permission from President Saddat to enter Egypt. On the 12 of February 1982 their second Child, daughter Fawzia Latifa was born in the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco.

Here are some Pics of the Family from the Year 1982:

She is indeed of part of the Mohammed Ali dynasty (Egyptian), and is related to Hassan Toussoun. (Both the sr. & the jr. , the latter being her brother)

To the best of my knowledge:

Muhammad Ali Pasha, Vali of Egypt -> Said Pasha, Vali
of Egypt -> Toussoun Pasha -> Omar Toussoun
-> HH Prince Said Tousson -> Nesrin Tousson (by Said's first wife, Mahivesh Shirin)

In any case, the Egyptian Khadieve's were of Turkish origin to begin with. There was a lot of intermarriage, too.

It' debatable whether she is entitled to use the title "Princess", though, as she is such a junior member. AFIK, she would merely be Her Grace or Excellency.

Egyptian Royal Family

I didn't know there was an Egyptian royal family still alive, until I read about Princess Fawzia Latifa of Egypt. Does anyone have any more information on the Egyptian Royal family?
