It remains quite weird that the women marrying into this family have to change their names to do so...
So, trying to get an overview, the Aga Khan's family now consists of:
Aga Khan IV
First married (1969) to and later divorced (1995) from British model Sarah Frances Croker-Poole who was known as Begum Salimah Aga Khan with whom he had 3 children.
1. Princess Zahra Aga Khan (b. 1970) previously married (1997) to British model and businessman Mark Boyden (who didn't have to convert - unlike the women marrying into the family) and divorced (2005), with whom she has 2 childeren.
1.1. Sara Boyden
1.2. Iliyan Boyden
2. Prince Rahim Aga Khan (b. 1971) married (2013) to American model Kendra Spears, now known as princess Salwa Aga Khan, with whom he has two children.
2.1. prince Irfan Aga Khan (b. 2015)
2.2. princess Sinan Aga Khan (b. 2017)
3. Prince Hussain Aga Khan (b. 1974) firstly married (2006) and divorced (2013) American mental health advocate Kristin White, known as (princess) Khaliya Aga Khan (married to Thomas Ermacora since 2015). Secondly married (2019) Elizabeth Hoag, now known as princess Fareen Aga Khan.
Secondly married (1998) and divorced (2004) to Gabriele Renata Thyssen, known as Begum Inaara Aga Khan, currently known as princess Gabriele zu Leiningen (because of her first marriage to prince Karl Emich zu Leiningen with whom she has a daughter: princess Theresa zu Leiningen, b. 1992); with whom he had one child.
4. Prince Aly Muhammed Aga Khan (b. 2000)

I guess it's when they convert to Islam (which they almost certainly have to do) they pick an Islamic name, which is common with many converts. Some of the divorced women go back to their previous names and religion and some keep their new names and keep practicing Islam.

I was interested in the lives of the Aga khans, I read their biography of the Aga Khans, very informative & intriguing, the book is called THRONE OF GOLD BY Anne Edwards.
