An exclusive English-language interview with HRH Prince Davit Bagrationi of Georgia:

https://eurohistoryjournal.blogspot.com/2020/12/exclusive-interview-with-prince-davit.html

I am fascinated by this part of the interview. What is Davit trying to communicate? Isn't it already clear whom his successor would be if he would become king? Or is he trying to put pressure on his former wife about the upbringing of his son?

FdN: "If tomorrow you were King of Georgia, what would be your first decisions?"

Prince David: "It is likely that I would seek to appoint a member of the House of Bagration in Georgia to succeed me at some point, Orthodox, who meets the dynastic rules of succession, who would be independent and who would have the strength to meet such a daunting task as being a ruler."

Congratulations to Prince Juan and Princess Kristine!

Interesting development. What is known about his new bride; other than that apparently they didn't have a large wedding (as the patriarch seems rather important; did he conduct the ceremony)?

Congratulation to Prince Juan and Pss Kristine Bagrationi on the occasion of the birth of their son Bagrat. Welcome to the world little Prince.

Does anyone know whether Bagrat is a common first name in Georgia? It makes for a bit of a weird combination: prince Bagrat de Bagration-Mukhrani.

But congrats to the couple!

At least Bagrat was pretty rare as regnal name during Kingdom of Georgia and its successor states. But not sure how usual name it was on other Georgian royals.

What lovely pics. I like the 2nd one a lot the little Prince look at his mother. Happy Mothers Day.

Don't care much for this yellow dress, she seem to have a little bump, maybe she is pregnant? but so she looks lovely. I do must say a very clean city.

Probably not as she just gave birth in January and even if she was pregnant straight away she wouldn't be showing yet. If she has a bump it's probably just being a new mum.

Prince Davit with Princess Irina attended the ceremonies on the occasion of the enthronement of Metropolitan Ioaniki of Montenegro and the Littoral last weekend in Podgorica.

NEWS

How old is Princess Irina? Anyone knows?
