Queen Silvia attended today a digital board meeting of HM Queen Silvia’s Foundation – Care About the Children.
 
Queen Silvia participated digitally by giving a speech in the symposium "Faith and Flourishing: Strategies for Preventing and Healing Child Sexual Abuse".
The purpose of the symposium organized by Harvard University was to develop strategies for preventing sexual abuse of children and providing support to the vulnerable. The symposium was attended by leaders, experts, academics and representatives of child rights and public health organizations, among others.

Queen Silvia attended today a digital annual meeting of Sällskapet till Arbetsflitens befrämjande's (The Society for Promoting of Diligence). Queen Silvia is the honorary chairman at the society which was founded in 1839 by Queen Desideria.

The Queen opened the AEPC 2021 Congress with a video greeting. During the congress, doctors from all over Europe gather digitally to discuss congenital heart disease in children. The Association AEPC (Association for European Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology) consists of about 1500 doctors in Europe, who specialize in pediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease in children.

Queen Silvia gave the opening speech today in a Webinar for Professor Arne Ljungqvist's professorship in Anti-doping and public health at Karolinska Institutet.

Karolinska Institutet hopes to establish a new professorship in anti-doping and public health named after Arne Ljungqvist, who turns 90 this year, and organized a webinar to draw attention to the subject and Arne's work.

On Tuesday, June 15, the Queen spoke to the winners of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology, Professor Emeritus Philip J Cook and Professor Franklin E Zimring (USA), at the Stockholm Criminology Symposium.
The Stockholm Prize in Criminology is an international prize awarded to the person or persons who have made outstanding achievements in criminological research or who have applied it in practice to reduce crime and promote human rights. The prize was established in 2006 by the Swedish government and the Torsten Söderberg Foundation.

Queen Silvia attended yesterday evening the Anders Wall Foundation's 40th anniversary at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
Due to the covid-19 restrictions, only 300 people attended the event.

For 40 years, the Anders Wall Foundation has awarded scholarships to young talents in music. In collaboration with the Royal Opera, which reopened the opera house for the season with the anniversary gala, the foundation arranged a gala with singers and instrumentalists who were awarded the Anders Wall scholarship at the beginning of their careers.
The foundation also supports scientific research, entrepreneurship and rural development and from these areas the inspiration for the performance was taken.

Queen Silvia gave yesterday and audience to Märta Stenevi, the Minister for Gender Equality and Housing, with responsibility for urban development, anti-segregation and anti-discrimination.

During the state visit from Germany Märta Stenevi and the Queen participate in a meeting with The Ombudsman for Children. The German delegation has shown great interest in the authority and its work, as they don't have that kind of authority.
They discussed also about the World Childhood Foundation, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, children's rights and the vulnerability of children in general in society and online.

Queen Silvia presented the Queen Silvia Nursing Award to nursing students who have contributed innovative ideas that promote the care of the elderly and people with dementia. Last year's event was canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic, so the Queen awarded scholarships to the winners from both 2019 and 2020.

Queen Silvia gave today an audience to Hermine Holm and Gunilla Sunnros from the Swedish Association against incest and other sexual abuse in childhood (Rise).
They told the queen about their association, which for 40 years has worked to provide support to adults who have been sexually abused during childhood.

The new part of Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital in Gothenburg was inaugurated by Queen Silvia. The hospital is now one of Europe's largest children's hospitals.
The Children's Hospital has carried H.M. Queen Silvia's name since 1999.

Queen Silvia participated today in a meeting in the Queen Silvia's Foundation for Scientific Research and Training.
 
Queen Silvia participated digitally in a conference on rare diagnoses at the world exhibition Expo 2020 in Dubai on 28th February.
The Queen's speech inaugurated the conference "Rare Diseases a Global Priority for Equity", which was arranged in the Swedish pavilion in connection with Rare Diseases Day. The conference discussed the needs of the 300 million people living with a rare diagnosis around the world.
