King Carl Gustaf met today Andreas Norlén, the Speaker of the Riksdag.
During the meeting, the Speaker presented the current issues in the Riksdag.
Today's audience was the first individual meeting between the King and the Speaker since the government entered to office in January 2019.

I'm a bit puzzled over the fact that The King hasn't met either the Speaker or the Prime minister since January. I've always been under the impression that they meet regularly something I feel they underscored when the Instagram post from his meeting with PM Löfven said that "these meetings will be held regularly going forward".

The King to Norrbotten - makes a county trip
On Wednesday the king makes a visit to Norrbotten.
King Carl XVI Gustaf will visit Piteå and Luleå. The theme of the trip is "New high-tech initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions".
The visit starts at the Sunpine bio refinery in Piteå, the world leader in the production of renewable fuels. The tour then continues to the wind farm in Markbygden, which contributes to the production and development of renewable energy.
The last stop is made at Luleå University of Technology. The king will, among other things, receive a demonstration of the VR studio and the drone Hugin, which is used in both research and education. Hugin's tasks include mapping the Swedish bedrock to bring knowledge of how the rock and ores have been formed.

The King's clear mark - praises Victoria: "Understood"
Our monarch ducked the questions about the revolving family decision - instead he chose to highlight Crown Princess Victoria.
- She has understood that it is important for the future, says the king about Victoria's environmental commitment.
On Monday, King Carl Gustaf made a decisive decision. He then signed the document which excludes Princess Madeleine's and Prince Carl Philip's children from the royal house. The decision makes it clear that it is the King and Crown Princess Victoria, who, together with Queen Silvia and Prince Daniel are Sweden's leading representatives. When Princess Estelle reaches adulthood, she is also expected to represent the country.
On Wednesday, the king made his first trip after the decision published.
He visited Piteå and Luleå, under the theme "new high-tech initiatives for reducing greenhouse gas emissions".
The visit started at the company Sunpine in Piteå, which is a world leader in the production of second generation renewable fuels. Then the King visited Luleå University of Technology, to get a view of the VR studio and the drone Hugin.
The king chose not to answer any questions about the family decision. But both children and grandchildren still came up on the agenda when the king was asked how he engaged them in the environmental issue. The king then diverted attention from the grandchildren, to focus instead on Crown Princess Victoria.
- The grandchildren I don't think you need to raise because they are so small. It takes a few years for them to understand this, I promise. But the young people and the crown princess are very interested, he says.
The king says he has been working on the environmental issue for 30 years, highlighting the crown princess and her work.
- She has been here and looked at this facility as well. She also does this as much as possible, she understands that it is important for the future, he says.

King Carl Gustaf wasn't on a holiday although his calendar was empty, he made a visit that is never informed before it is done.

The king visited Swedish UN soldiers in Mali
This week, the King visited Swedish UN soldiers based in Timbuktu and Bamako in Mali.
The King visited the Swedish UN-affiliated Mali 10, which is based in Camp Nobel outside Timbuktu. There, the King, together with, among other things, the Defense Forces Chief of Staff Jan Thörnqvist, received a thorough review of the federation and its operations. Among other things, the hospital, the workshop and the equipment of the recovery company were shown.
The king also visited Swedish soldiers in Bamako. There are the Swedes who work as a support function for the logistics supply to the Swedish operation and partly those who participate in the EU training (EUTM) for Mali's army. EUTM is part of a long-term EU strategy for the entire region with the aim of restoring law and order and neutralizing terrorist threats.

The royal court tells at its website at the article of the king and Victoria at the enthronement:
On Thursday, October 25, the King visited the Isseido antique store in Tokyo. The antiquarian has been owned by the same family since it opened in 1913 and is today represented by Takehiko Sakai.
One of the books that the King looked in was Carl Peter Thunberg's book Voyages de CP Thunberg au Japon. Thunberg was a Swedish botanist and disciple of Carl von Linné during the 18th century. At this time, Japan only allowed the Dutch to visit the country, but as an employed surgeon with the Dutch East India Company, Thunberg was given the opportunity to travel to Japan 1775-1776. On site he became one of the few who were allowed to conduct botanical research.
The king visited the bookseller Tekehiko's parents' house in 1985 to experience a Japanese home.

The king was informed of the opera renovation
On Wednesday, December 11, the King gave an audience to Birgitta Svendén from the Royal Opera as well as Kjell-Åke Averstad and Ingrid Eiken Holmgren from the National Property Board.
The King was informed of the proposal for a new design of the Royal Opera presented at the end of November.
The earliest possible start of construction is in 2023 if the government says yes to the National Property Board's request for implementation of the project.
The Royal Opera, which stands on Gustav Adolf's square in Stockholm, was commissioned by King Oskar II and was completed in 1898. At the same place stood former King Gustav III's opera house which was used in 1782-1891.
