Yesterday, Wednesday 5 April, the King attended, and held the opening speech, at the fourth seminar about leadership at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, hosted by the Swedish Scout & Guide Council. Around a hundred representatives from the Swedish business life and Scouting movement had gathered for the occasion.

To the daily newspaper Metro, the King said that he hopes that today’s youth will take better care of the world than his generation has. With his new foundation, Young Leadership, the King wants to encourage leadership among the youth, and the foundation will award scholarships to encourage young people’s development of leadership and diversity.

- We older people have a few things to pass on the youth, but we have also made mistakes and stupidities that we hope they won’t take after.

King Carl Gustaf, who is also the Honorary President of the International Scout Fund, and accompanying delegation arrive in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 20 February 2008, on a several day visit to the Kingdom. At King Khalid International Airport, he was received by Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, Dr. Abdullah bin Salih Al-Obeid, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Saudi Scout Association, and senior officials.

Today the king had press-meeting with scouts during the 56.Baden-Powell World Scout-Foundation meeting in Vienna:

Unfortunately the queen (she is in Vienna, too) wasn't attend by the press-meeting. I hope we will see pictures of the royal couple during the "Scout-Meeting"! On the evening is a Dinner for the Foundation.

As a former scout I can only applaud the kings dedication to the subject. He seems to do a lot of things around scouting, very different from my own dutch royal patron and fromer patron.
The king is not wearing his uniform though....

What are the participants of the 56.World Scout Foundation doing during the last days, which program is in Vienna?

I am hearing only from press-meeting yesterday. Was visit of any organisation in Vienna as in April 2008 in Seoul by the last meeting?

The press-meeting I had list, too! I had inquiry about other events during the Scout-Foundation meeting in Vienna.
