You could place HRH Crown Princess Victoria in the place of her mother in these two photos, and I do not believe anyone would notice. The crown princess in physical appearance is simply her mother made over! CPV and her two siblings have been blessed with genes which have made her and her sister strikingly beautiful, and has made her brother extremely handsome and good-looking!

Here is Silvia two months pregnant with Victoria at the Nobel:

At the time,it was not known that she was pregnant but,you could tell by her expression!

I was thinking the same thing - how casual it feels in contrast to the gravitas of the moment. Her 'girls' seem to be a bit 'down', too.  However, she is a radiant beauty - shining with love and warmth (like Mette-Marit of Norway currently) - it hardly matters - though I can't help but think that were TRF around then we would have taken her to task for those spaghetti straps - tsk, tsk, yes. And those shoulders - Silvia! - posture! posture!

Thx for posting the pictures, Queen Silvia was beautiful when young and she still is, being able to look well in a full jeweled set with matching tiara.

That was a remarkable photoshoot indeed:
The only time (back in 1979) that one of the 'Old Masters' of royal portrait photography, Norman Parkinson, photographed Queen Silvia.
