Likes and Dislikes of Queen Sofia
I saw a thread similar to this for the late Princess of Wales over at the British royal family forums. I'm a fan of Sofía's but she gets little media coverage where I live (USA) and so I hardly know anything about her. I'm wondering, does anyone know the things that she likes and dislikes?
Thanks!:)

*blush* Who is Jaime Peñafiel and why would the Queen dislike him?
I really wish we we were kept up to date on royalty of the world and international politics, too. CNN and MSNBC only tells us so much, LOL! Is Jaime Peñafiel a Spanish politician?
As for the Queen's likes, from the pictures I've seen of her, I can certainly see that her grandchildren and animals are definite 'likes'. :) I hope that one of her future granddaughters are named after her, as it seems that the other grandchildren are named after everyone else, lol.
Are there any sites that contain .wav of mp3 files of speeches made by the members of the royal family? I've never heard any of them speak.

Jaime Peñafiel is the Spanish journalist. In the past he used to work for iHola! and was a specialist in royalty. His articles were very good and respected by everyone. But for some years he changed completely. Now he works for "El Mundo" and writes only rumours (created by him, of course). Earlier he critizised first of all Queen Sofia, but now he focuses on Letizia.

That's awful! I loathe yellow journalism. Letizia and Sofía seem to be very bright, well-respected, kind people. I hope no one that reads his articles believes the stuff that he writes. I can't imagine why he would criticise any members of the royal family unless he's an anti-royalist.

He only writes good things about the King but only to suck to him, so it's kind of pathetic really; nowadays he's copying the gossip from german mags and that's low even for him

Queen Sofia is a very nice and like kids very much. During her recent visit in Dakar, it was very touching to see her with babies in her arms.
As for Peñafiel, now her comments are on Letizia who according to him is not a suitable Queen for Spain. But I am quite amazed to learn that he does not like Queen Sofia because he always compare Letizia to Queen Sofia by saying that she can never reach Sofia's level who is a real and professional queen". Let me find the link and then I will post it.

Eleanor, you may want to check the following link. You'll hear a brief part of Queen Sofia's speech in English in Singapore: http://www.informativos.telecinco.es...50706reina.wmv

Sira, I believe this quasi journalist respects Sofia as a queen, because he knows she's almost flawless in her job. On the other hand, he doesn't like her as a person or as a friend because he claims that he asked the queen for support when his daughter died on a drug overdose and he claims that the queen ignored him, so he has a feeling of deep anger and ill-will against her.

As ridiculous as this comes across, when I see a photo of her she comes across as a wonderfully kind old grandmother who has a genuine love of life and family ...
oh, ridiculous because how could one possibly tell that from mere photographs?
