King Juan Carlos's Official Visit to Washington DC: February 17-18, 2010
The King and Queen will visit the White House
The adviser of national safety of the USA, James Jones, has confirmed that, after the official visit this week of Rodríguez Zapatero to Washington, will follow one of the King and Queen of Spain.

Is Her Majesty ok ? She did not accompany the King to the Lebanon & now she's not going to the USA .

I wonder why Sofia isn't going? It would be an opportunity to see Cristina and her family.

I wonder why Sofia isn't going and I wonder when this visit was planned, officially or unofficially.
Relations between US and Spain have not been too well after all, disagreement about Afghanistan, then Obama cancelling his visit to Spain on purpose of EU summit and the resentment between Obama and Zapatero on a personal level, when the White House published a family photo that included his daughters dressed in Goth style, creating lots of polemic in Spain since Zapatero does not allow pictures of his children.

Duke, the visit was foreseen initially for December 8. But later Obama changed his agenda with the Copenhagen Summit and the Nobel Prize, and they looked for this date in February.
