Paris and his Academiciens are more interesting than her small Country .
 
Grand Duke Henri visited this morning the exhibition "Aristides de Sousa Mendes - A Portuguese consul between human conscience and reason of state" which pays tribute to Aristides de Sousa Mendes, consul-general of Portugal, who saved 30,000 people - including Luxembourg citizens - of the terror of the Holocaust in 1940.
The Grand Duke then went to the Neumünster Culture and Meeting Center to visit the exhibition "Luxembourg, Portugal, country of hope in times of distress". The Grand Duke then entered with Holocaust survivors.

Patronages are for Grand Duke's wifes !
She will never have a low profile , she is a proud Lady who can smile and shout !!

As mentioned, Maria Teresa visited the geriatric center in Ettelbruck yesterday. However, the other three agenda items for the week have been deleted from the cour website.

Wort.lu reports that Henri and Maria Teresa cancelled their attendance at the Luxembourg City Film Festival "on short notice without justification. It would have been the first joint public appearance by Grand Duke Henri and his wife Maria Teresa since the publication of the Waringo report."
 
That's very interesting. It might be in response to the coronavirus- COVID-19. Although it could be related to some new Waringo implementations.
 
I read somewhere the Prime Minister was also meant to be going to the Film festival...just saying
 
Hmmm... it would have been better PR if the Cour gave a reason for the cancellations, especially when pre-Waringo reports alleged GD Maria Teresa sometimes cancelled on whims and such. COVID-19 is a perfectly valid reason although I admit it could also be bad optics for the GD couple cancel whereas the film festival was not and others attended. Oh well, I hope to see a joint appearance soon.

Prime Minister Xavier Bettel cancelled to prepare for the next day's Ministerial Council.

“Today, on the day of my birthday, I want to tell you that it is not my heart to celebrate. My heart is with you, and with all those who are fighting the disease these days, the anxious, the lonely, the weaker.

I also think of all those who are alone in their last hours and of those who would like to have accompanied a dear man on his last path and cannot say "goodbye".

Even though Maria Teresa speaks Luxembourgish, I think she has always been more comfortable speaking French.

She does not have the flawless grasp of the language that her son HGD Guillaume has.

Years ago, Henri and Maria Teresa were asked why they didn't speak better Luxembourgish.

Maria Teresa replied, "It will be different with Guillaume. You will see. Luxembourgish is his language."
 
The late Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte was fluent in Luxembourgish and I am sure thet the Hed Grand Duchess Stephanie is already.

MT is more in Paris than in her Country , when she speeks Luxembourgish in each sentence there is a french word.
 
I've seen HGD Stephanie give interviews in Luxembourgish, yes she is completely fluent now.
 
Jacques Schneider an artist of Luxembourg launched the "Eng Grouss Famill" project in which the Palace also participated : He asked to send him pictures of the favorite place of the Grand Duchy or of life at home in these quarantine days and from Berg Castle he received 3 unpublished photos of the Grand Duke Couple
