A greeting from the King and Queen on the occasion of 30 years on the throne: ⁣

«17. January we have been the country's royal couple for 30 years. It fills us with gratitude.⁣
We have been able to follow Norway and the Norwegian people through an exciting development.⁣
We look back with joy on hundreds of trips and visits around our beautiful country through these years. ⁣

We are deeply grateful that we are always received so warmly and hospitably when we visit - no matter what the occasion. All over Norway we meet people with a deep love for their hometown, for the local community and their fellow human beings.

It fills us with infinite joy and pride.⁣
Thank you for the company on the journey so far! ”⁣

These two really do deserve to be so happy together at this advanced age - after decades of joint service in such a formidable way!

Already 30 years. The Royal couple look great. I hope they enjoy several more years of happiness.

"Since 5 March , a group of hard-nosed men have walked over the mountain from Hardanger to the Castle in what they have called Queen Sonja's Honor March. ⁣ ⁣

After days of sunshine, but also a lot of wind and snow, the boys today finally arrived at the Palace in Oslo. The plan was to get into an audience, but due to the infection situation, there was a good conversation using digital solutions. ⁣

⁣ With them as a gift to the Queen, they had, among other things, one of the last skis that was produced at the old Utne Ski Factory in Hardanger, with the names of all the trip participants engrave'

My guess is that they are slowly settling into a position as the next King&Queen. The Kings health is clearly getting worse, though I hope he will be around for a long time. But I think it is a time of transition.

Each time I see the king, I am getting more worried about his health. I hope he has many years left to spend with his wife, children, sister and many others -in reasonable health preferably- but it isn't looking good I am afraid.

I think it is not as bad as it seems. HM underwent a knee operation back in january.

He looked dreadful last year, and it was because he needed a failing valve in his heart replaced (again). Since then he understandably seems to have perked up a bit, since it's easier for him to breathe and move. It's a great pity he hurt his leg, but Harald is nothing but tough.

The other side of this is, as people say, he hasn't exactly looked in perfect health for a couple of decades now. It's not as though he looked extremely well last month. I too hope he keeps doing what he's doing. Leve Kongen.

Agree, given his age and his knee issue, his condition, definitely isn't perfect but not really that bad. Saw the video clip of Harald chatting with Astrid on the royal yacht and he (and Astrid both) looks in good spirits even though with mobility problem.
