3-14 May 1999 12-Day State Visit to Brazil

Queen Margrethe II, Prince Henrik and Crown Prince Frederik are on a 12-day state visit in Brazil. Crown Prince Frederik arrived in Brazilia on Saturday, the 2nd of May, and he was at the airport to greet his parents who arrived a day later.

On 3 May 1999, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, President of Brazil, was awarded the Order of the Elephant by her HM Queen Margrethe.

On the 3rd of May, President Fernando Henrique Cardoso and his wife, Mrs. Ruth Cardoso, gave a gala dinner for their Danish royal guests in the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

16-18 February 2000 3-Day Official Visit to Great Britain

Day 1

Arrival Ceremony
Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik are being welcome by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh upon their arrival to London on 16 February 2000, the first day of their 3-day official visit to the United Kingdom. The Danish Regent Couple is staying at Windsor Castle as guests of HM Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh.

On 16 February 2000, Charles, Prince of Wales, was awarded the Order of the Elephant by her HM Queen Margrethe.

Day 1 (7 February 2001)

Official Ceremony

On 7 February 2001, Prince Vajiralongkorn of Thailand was awarded the Order of the Elephant by HM Queen Margrethe.

Banquet

King Bhumibol Adulyadej gave a state banquet in honour of the Danish Regent Couple and Crown Prince in the Chakri Throne Hall. His Majesty speaks. After the banquet, the royal families were given gifts and watched a performance of traditional Thai dancers.

Day 2 (8 February 2001)

Elephant Conservation Centre in Lampang

Time to feed the elephants... The Crown Prince feeds an elephant. The Queen feeds an elephant. The Prince Consort joins in enthusiastically in feeding the elephants. One more shot of CP Frederik and Queen. Then, HM the Queen enjoys a ride aboard one of the pachyderms.

Day 5 (11 February 2001)

Another busy day. Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik visit the Chiang May Project. Queen Margrethe pays a visit to the children at Yang San Lang School and later talks with botanist Chiang May.

Day 6 (12 February 2001)

Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik visit a garden in Doi Tung. The Queen enjoying the flowers. Another photo.
