Speech by H.M. The Queen in the official Dinner. (Sumary)
"Mister President.
Lady Margarita Zavala:
The Prince Consort and I have waited longingly for this visit to Mexico, twice planned and twice postponed. But when last year, in your visit to Denmark, you, Mister President, renewed the invitation for a Visit of State, we were been charmed with of agreeing.
...
The receipt of which we have been an object has affected and impressed us very much, especially because both we have visited your country in different occasions, and both we hoard recollections of Mexico and of his impressive and colouring culture, so much passed as present.
...
Mister President:
It is true that in many aspects Mexico and Denmark are very different countries; different in geographical size, climate, size of population, etc, but we share many values jointly: our beliefs obout the freedom, democracy and the human rights, allowing to the people to follow their aspirations with freedom.
...
Both Mexico and Denmark favors a multilateral approach before international conflicts and, therefore, we support the roleand importance of the United Nations Organization, as well as the beginning included in its Charter.
Nevertheless, the collaboration in international forums will never be able to replace to the maintenance and promotion of the bilateral relations, of which the present Visit is an excellent example, which as assurance will use to strengthen the already excellent relations between our countries and villages.
...
Denmark and Mexico also share a common worry for the climatic change. Denmark waits to cooperate together with Mexico, with the purpose of achieving a global and enclosing agreement in the Summit of the Climate of Copenhagen in 2009.
...
The Prince Consort and I expect to present longingly for the Mexican public only a small part of what Denmark can offer.
...
Mister President.
Lady Margarita Zavala:
The Prince Consort joins me on having lifted my glass in a toast for a brilliant future for the bilateral relations between Mexico and Denmark, for the well-being and good health of the President of the United States of Mexico, and of the lady Margarita Zavala, and for the happiness and prosperity of Mexico and the whole Mexican people.

Yes, she does look quite elegant. I have to say that even Prince Henrik is looking healthier lately.

Will there not be a gala dinner during this visit? Not even a black-tie event??
I was looking forward to seeing Queen Margrethe in a tiara again! Although she looked great, and very regal, at the official dinner.
