During the first four months of this year, the King of Morocco spent less than twenty days in his country. His frequent and extended absences bring the kingdom to a near standstill creating a situation which, in the long term, will be untenable since the Moroccan chief of state is vested with practically absolute powers. Will he finally abdicate? A hard decision to take: the crown prince is only fifteen. https://orientxxi.info/magazine/is-k...-abdicate,2456
Thanks for the article!
If accurate, some points in the article such as Lalla Salma's description are unfortunate. One can assume that no Moroccan King abdicated. So the abdication may not be the way to solve the issues. Regency may be more suitable.
I had refered in a ptevious thread to the
Probability that the king does not have
A desire to rule :smile
Any way the king can left the throne to his
Son with a consol of jis brother and may be
Mouly Ismail his close cousin
IF (big IF because is something hard to happen Imo) if the King decide to abdicate to his son we most likely wont see any member of RF as a regent not Moulay Rachid or anyone else, there is a procedure to follow in this case wich the new constituion of 2011 was clear about it ,a regency council will take over until Moulay Hassan is ready to became a king
