Marrakech International Film Festival: 2001-2018

There is no ambiguity on this picture, the prince laughs with the bride, and because of his education he doesn't look at her face. I saw him many times on TV, and I remark that he never looks at the face of young women.

for sure he didn't look at her breast, he isn't crazy to do that during an an official activity, perhaps in private because he is only a man;)
you said that he never look at young women's faces, personally, I never remarked that, I know that very rigid muslims never look to a woman's face but the prince seems to be a modern man and I don't think that it's his way to see things

Marrakech Festival a boon for local cinema
The Marrakech Film Festival, to begin its ninth edition on December 4, has been a boon not just for the fledgling Moroccan/African cinema industry, offering an effective platform for their directors, but also for the city’s tourism. Funded entirely by the country’s ruling monarchy with Prince Moulay Rachid (King’s brother) presiding over the nine-day run (though the management is with a French public relations firm, Le Public Systeme.), the Festival pumps excitement into the city’s innumerable hotels and wayside eateries.

The 9th Marrakech International Film Festival conserves past achievements, Prince Moulay Rachid says
Marrakech - The 9th Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) conserves its past achievements and looks towards the future, Prince Moulay Rachid, Chairman of the FIFM Foundation said on the occasion of the FIFM opening Friday in Marrakech.
EDITORIAL OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE MOULAY RACHID
For its 9th edition, the International Film Festival of Marrakech (FIFM) brings to fruition its past accomplishments while firing a salute to the future.
I have absolute confidence in the level of excellence of the competition, the great value of the members of the jury, the confirmation of all the groundwork laid for the visually handicapped, the educational value of cinema master classes and, above all, in the affectionate and faithful presence of all the people who have already walked the red carpet and who will do us the kindness of coming back this year.

the prince is not only a symbolic chief of the festival,he is the real boss:he is the chairman of Marrakech Film Festival foudation,he attend all the meetings related to the festival,he has the last word on many important decisions and he also personally supervise all the preparative work for the festival.

it's odd to see the king of a somewhat conservative country which strives to keep its traditions seating next to kim catrall, whose show she featured on was probably among the most unconservatives, breaking so many tabus... :)
i'm glad the festival is becoming so known, it's a great boost to the country's economy, i'm sure.

Carlota that was not the king but his brother moulay Rachid the king is in High Atlas visiting some very far area.

Marrakech festival sur did so good for tourism industry in the city, but I don't think the Moroccan economy depend on this festival to survive, the festival help the most the entertainment industry in Morocco(Movies especially)

Marrakech Film Festival 2009: report
.... In addition to this Prince Moulay Rachid, the Festival’s seemingly rather active president, provided free cataract operations for 250 patients at the local university hospital; since film is at least partly about the art of seeing, this initiative – which also included an exhibition of photographs taken by the blind or partially sighted – seemed especially valuable...Link

I bet this is one of Moulay Rachid's favourite events, all those pretty actresses!
Great to see John Malkovich and Eva Mendes there.
I miss seeing the princesses at the film festival too. I wonder why they've all stopped attending, they brought the real glamour to this event in my opinion.

no doubt its Moulay Rachid favorite Patronage:D
impressing attendance this year: Keanu Reeves,Marion Cotillard,Sophie Marceau,Christophe Lambert,James Caan and many other actors and actreeses it's so nice to see them all here in Morocco.
i agree that the princeses make the festival more glamorous i don't know why they don't attend anymore.
