Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed (1969-2010) Death in Moroccan Air Accident

Sheikh Ahmed's plane has crashed in a lake in Morocco. Pilot was recovered alive, but Ahmed is still missing. Pray for his safety.

The managing director of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), considered the world's biggest sovereign wealth fund, is missing after a glider plane crash in Morocco, the state news agency WAM said on Friday. Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed al-Nahayan is a younger brother of the ruler of Abu Dhabi, who is also president of the United Arab Emirates, but is not immediately in line for succession. Sheikh Ahmed was No. 27 on Forbes list of the world's most powerful people last year and is in his early 40s. The magazine described him as "elusive" and he rarely gives interviews.

The lake is said to be very muddy and very dark which makes it harder to search not forgetting how big the lake is.

They have some of the best international teams on the search accoridng to UAE reports.

Yes, it is all true. Sheikh Khalifa confirmed the Death of Sheikh Ahmed. Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed has been found. There is a three day mourning period in UAE.
*His body was in the lake...
My heart goes out to his family especially his 3 year-old Zayed. Sheikh Ahmed was 41, he had gotten married in 03' I believe. Some say the Spanish pilot he was with, was a friend, but those may be just rumors. May god let Sheikh Ahmed's soul rest in peace.

The Spanish guy was the co-pilot/pilot who always was flying with the Sheikh.

Sheikh Ahmed was a good swimmer.
Many think as the accident happened he went unconscious and that would make sense.

He was a really good swimmer, to my belief I think he liked sports. He liked to snowboard. It is said he was unconscious. Plus there was much rain in Morocco before. The water levels were much higher. Plus, if a plane crashed in the water the situation is much more different.
