Ruling Family of Abu Dhabi: Al Nahyan dynasty 2: August 2011 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I was also sure it depicts a falcon,but not 100 % sure;-)
I prefer the emblem that you posted in the link,to me it seems more artful and less bulky than the old one,the colours are nice (I only miss green for the UAE flag...) but in this new picture the falcon is more precise and does not look so similiar to an eagle. The beak, typical feathers and wings are well-done,much better than the old one! Also thanks for providing the information for this symbolic emblem.
How do you like the new emblem,Nymeria?

Haha,I don´t think that Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa is easy to top,imanmajed;-)
He has a very expressive face,he could easily work as an actor because he can represent so many different emotions and convey feelings with his eyes and body language. Also,he has what Tyra Banks calls "smize"-smiling with your eyes,if you understand what I mean?
Only,in the second linked picture he looks a little bit annoyed, maybe his horse didn´t fare well at a race or something else was not going the way he planned it...

For me he is in a sublime, reposing, graceful and resting in themselves state. "A little bit annoyed" looks different with us......

Can you boost handsomeness? Yes, of course. Maybe you will find a possible answer here:

Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa al Nahyan 1

Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa al Nahyan 2

As someone in the Instagram comments aptly put it "handsomeness overdose"!!!;)

I hope this makes your day!:p:ROFLMAO:

(Beware, Sh.ZayedSK's Facebook Fan Page isn't the most reliable source of information concerning Sh.ZayedSK).

And some news:

Hamdsomness overdose takes the cake! So cute and the phrase fits so well!

...Thanks for sharing,Nymeria! What a funny picture-even though I must say that I expected something more "adventurous",maybe some picture where he is doing that crazy Harlem-Shake or something of that sort:p
But really,I am glad that he is not doing such things-or if he does,at least not in the public...!He seems to me rather conservative and traditional in his behavior, which I find good-especially in his position. (Conservative behavior and lifestyle do not have to be mutually exclusive with modern ideas and innovative thinking!)

@Imanmajed-how do you think a really angry face looks like? I thought that Arabs don´t like to show their feelings in public and therefore you have to look at the subtle details like crossed lines on the forehead or angry eyes...but maybe I am wrong:)

Maybe I should post a picture of that.....You have to look at discreet details. Normally we hide our negative and adverse feelings in public to preserve our dignity, honor, reputation and pride. If you feel that our eyes changed to very black, very dark and surrounded by a strange glow accompanied by a extraordinary tongue clicking, then we are angry....or at least do not agree. Also common is to leave the room unannounced or/and stay disappeared for a while. If we remain silent abruptly during an animated discussion, then its also has importance. If we pull our eybrows up it means a "no, not in this way". It may happen that someone is pulling his clothes before chest. It says: "Without me!" We are master in indirect communication and strive to save the face. Emphasis is placed on avoiding open conflict. But if someone makes us very, very, very angry then maybe sometime we lost our inner balance openly. But it happens seldom. ;)

Yes, I have seen that...but some people are not so able to fully cover their true feelings,I have seen Sh. Rashid bin Mohammed truly furious on the race course because obviously one of the horses or jockeys did not do what he expected him to do,I would not like to be in the position of them ;-)

I do not understand this you wrote: It may happen that someone is pulling his clothes before chest. It says: "Without me! ???
I have learnt that when people cross their arms before the body/chest it means the same - something along the lines of "I don´t agree",or "Not with me".
The eyes, voice and body language tell a lot more- if you want to sell you have to look at that closely and make sure that the customer feels good.If he/she moves back from you or crosses the arms it is not a good sign.
I usually know in a few seconds if someone is interested and wants to buy or if they just want to talk to me or if they are still deciding/thinking in their head if they should buy or not:)
Maybe you disagree with me-but I find that the Al Nahyan family is more "traditional" and showing less their true feelings that the Al Maktoum family. If you look at CP Hamdan and how he is sometimes joking around &looking goofy or sometimes worried & concerned,it does not need a specialist to tell how he feels. Also,if you want to know if the horses are performing well, a simple look at Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid is enough,he usually looks extremely enthusiastic when he wins or expects to make a good result, but when his animals underperform he is looking very stern and earnest!
Princess Haya is also very openly showing her feelings, but it seems that most of the time she is joyful and smiling, only at very rare occasions I have seen her looking not amused;-)

I know. There are several of such situations with him...........Sometimes he is hotheaded and tends to overdose in his negative feelings ............:ermm:

I agree with you. My statements were related to the area of strong negative feelings that can end in an interaction, e.g. anger. Whether and what kind of feelings do you show openly also depends on the context, where it is done (private context versus public context). I think, also there are small differences between a perceived resentment / disappointment when the favorite horse loses a race and the anger within a person-related interaction or situation.

Well, we should talk about his personality in another thread as this is certainly not the right place to do so,but you know-some people are very passionate and hot-blooded and if they don´t find a way to let out all that overflow of emotions & feelings, they do stupid things like Sheikh Rashid.
Good ways of venting such anger or frustration would be to do sports or any form of art-you see,Sheikh Hamdan is also very passionate and wild sometimes, but with his poetry and all the extreme sports he is doing he found a smart way to let it out without causing any damage.

With Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa I don´t see such a problem-to me he seems to be a more balanced and intellectual person & less hot-blooded and physical,if you understand what I mean? Being hot-headed and passionate is not negative, but it can negatively affect a person if they get carried away by their feelings and stop thinking.
I think a combination of calm-detached and the vibrant emotions is best, because someone who is only intellectual is a rather boring person to be with. (Even though they are good at work or in their field of interest.)

What a wonderful initiative by Sheikha Alyazia bint Sultan Al Nahyan!:flowers:
UAE to soon get bookclubs in every community - The National

That´s right, congratulations to a fellow bookworm
I did not know that such an initiative does not exist in UAE ,but obviously people have more affinity & passion for poetry than reading literature.
Hopefully Sheikha Alyazia bint Sultan Al Nahyan´s efforts and the creation of many book-clubs & meetings will get more people interested in reading good books!

Unfortunately the account is private, so only those who have Instagram and send a "following" request to the owners may see the page, this saddens me profoundly since I don't and cannot (phone technicalities are responsible here:bang:) have Instagram :cry::verysad:

For all those who can view the page, respect and enjoy!!!:p:flowers:

I am quite sure that the first two men are brothers, you can see it in their face and they both have "bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan" after their first name! (bin=son of;Khalifa bin Zayed is the father and al Nayhan the name of the tribe they belong to!)

I hope I didn´t mess up any informations, even after reading lots of information and seeing many pictures I often get confused with family relations,so don´t worry if you don´t recognize every face and name immediately:) ]

Thanks Blauerengel but I know what Bin means in fact :flowers:.

Nonetheless, thanks for your response !!!

@Nymeria thank you very much dear! Now it all becomes clear.

Mashallah Sheikh Khalifa looks young beside SH. Sultan. I bet they were brothers, that's what confused me from the beginning  .

Thank you both :) !

I have looked at the instagram page, but it seems as if the people did not upload anything yet(it is a fanpage, not a page run by the Sheikh himself).
Usually such fanpages can be accessed from not registered users too,I sometimes look at Sheikh Hamdan/Faz3 (Dubai) or Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad´s (Qatar) instagram account, even though I have no profile I can see the pictures. I am sure that the fans who maintain the page will upload some images or videos soon:flowers:

Thanks for sharing this interesting interview with Sheikha Alyazia, she seems like a very kind, intelligent person with a purpose. Hopefully her book-project will help to get more Emiratis interested in literature! I especially like the pictures where the ladies in abaya read to young girls, the girls look very interested and seem to enjoy the book session a lot:)

Let's see if I can explain the intricacies of 21st century technology without embarrassing myself:)...non registered users can only view Instagram pages marked as 'public' by the owners of the page in their privacy settings; all pages marked as 'private' are not visible to non registered users unless they first register and then send a 'following'(=friendship) request to the owners, if the request is accepted then for that person the photos on the page become visible.
Instagram is a fan page, it wasn't created by Sh.MohammedSK himself (I value privacy, so I wouldn't have ever shared a link to Sh.Mohammed's personal page..assuming he has one..); the owners have already uploaded a few photos (about 30, at this time) but to all non registered users, the page appears blank (except for the page title and avatar).
Although to me the page is not visible, I've shared the link for others who are registered; hopefully in the future the owners will be kind enough to mark the page as public and not private, after all it is a FAN PAGE..what's the point if it's not accessible to all Sh.Mohammed's fans???;)

Exactly, very strange to make a fanpage that is not accessible to other fans or supporters...Of course, I understand everyone wants to keep their PRIVATE pictures for their own friends and family only, but why not share pictures from official events like charity or sport events?
Usually private accounts have a "lock" symbol at the top, that´s why I thought this account is public but doesn´t have any pictures:)

I believe he is home based in his native UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) but travels frequently for work (UK, France, Switzerland..).
He is currently a businessman, but his interests also include art and sports (he regularly attends art and design galleries)
He is a philanthropist with a special interest for children's health and well-being.
As for his marital status, unfortunately there is a lot of speculation...he is not married but some say he is engaged others say he is not...
Sh.MohammedSK and Sh.KhalifaSK are Sh.Zayed's younger brothers, I believe Sh.Mohammed is a few years (2 or 3 years) younger than Sh.Zayed but this photo would suggest otherwise Photo by zayedbinsultan_fans • Instagram(*) Sh.Mohammed has just finished serving in the UAE army and I think he is now going to attend Sandhurst Royal Military Acadamy in the UK.
Sh.Khalifa is 14 or 15 years old and he is still at school in the UAE, he is a keen and successful horse rider and regularly participates in endurance racing.
Both Sh.Mohammed and Sh.Khalifa support numerous charities.

How cute, I find it very interesting to watch how people change over the years-what remains the same and how did they become different?
Also, in Austria we love to discuss where kids get their looks, character and special talents from. So we might sit together (not only women-also the men of the family!) and say "Oh, he has his mom´s eyes, but his father´s talent for math" or "She has the facial structure of her father, but she moves like her mother and has the same artistic ability",stuff like that.(Purely frivolous silly talks, but also interesting sometimes:)
With Sheikh Zayed I think he has the same look in his eyes, but his face and chin are more round and not so sharp,I also noticed that his ears changed a little. Generally I think he has changed to the better;-)
From years & years of observing the people around me and watching babies growing up I have noticed that a lot of people who look average or not so special as kids later turn into the prettiest people and other kids who are so charming and pretty to look at turn into average-looking adults.(Of course, with many exceptions!)
Lucy Liu, a very beautiful Chinese actress has told an interviewer that she was quite an ugly duckling as a child, but fortunately for her she has turned into and exceptionally pretty and talented woman:)

Interesting artists,Oleksandr KUZMIN´s sculptures look very creative and unique, the paintings reminded me of the Impressionist painters a lot,but at least I am happy that they do not show such ultra-modern stuff where you need to consult a crystal ball to get an idea what the artist wanted to present when he made his strange art.
Sheikh Zayed looks good in the pictures & everyone seemed to enjoy the Grand Opening :)

Dear Friends,
I believe this confirms that Sh.Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa is engaged.I am not sure if the wedding has already taken place, and I am not sure who is to be his wife.
I wish him and his future family all the best and happiness in the world!

His sister Sheikha Alyazia commented a photo showing Sh.Zayed with his father, these are her words:"زايد....

Well, unfortunately I could not properly translate the text,my translation program produced a very strange result :ermm: However,I could figure out that it had a lot of good wishes and mentioned a wedding, so I guess your assumptions are correct, Nymeria! I only wish we knew the name of Sh.Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa´s wife and a little bit about her personality & character...I am curious;-)

I wish Sh.Zayed & his wife a lot of happiness & good luck with their marriage :rose:
