Princess Haya and the FEI

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.

To give a nutshell explanation of the rules for FEI competition....zero....not even an asprin. There were several horses disqualified in the last 2 Olympics for minor traces, which got into the bloodstream through hoof packing ( a clay like material to draw the irritation post competition). These riders had been assured by their team vets that the minute amounts involved would not be a problem...wrong! Horses showing under the FEI rule are 'quarantined' to a seperate tent, with monitors, to prevent the horses being dosed by someone who wants the competitor disqualified, for what ever reason.

Great pictures Salma, thanks for sharing. Do you have an article of what this was about or if a meeting was held?

You´re welcome. Sorry I haven´t article.

...
plenty of talk about the royal visit by Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, president of the International Equestrian Federation. Princess Haya will be making her first official outing at an equestrian event since her husband Sheikh Mohammed was handed down a six-month ban on July 31st after two positive dope tests on one of his endurance horses earlier in the year. The princess, who has campaigned to clean up equestrian sports’ doping and medication infringement problems, took no part in the disciplinary process.

The princess flew the flag for Jordan when she competed in the international events at the RDS in 1996 and 1997 while training with the late Paul Darragh at Waterside Stud in Co Meath. But this will be her first official visit to Dublin since she took over as federation president in 2006... - Full Article

That's quite a statement after over 3 years of presidency that had been heavily advertised with the "clean sport" idea. Clearly Haya's priorities must have been elsewhere? Thanks for posting Daz.
