Sheikh Mohammed lives in his own world too, I remember it was stated that when the wedding took place, two of his sons traveled with him to Jordan but had no idea that their father was about to get married to Haya, neither was their mother (who grew up in the same culture and knows that this does not concern her position anyway). I don't think we are talking about a 'normal' family structure by any means, Sheikh Mohammed does what he wants and pulls the strings with his separate family units and business units.

He has a vicious old fashioned wicked mentality, strengthened by the power of money unfortunately.
If he was not who he is, but just a local middle well-off guy in the middle of the desert, firstly I doubt that he could afford 6 wifes and 30 kids. His family would not have known another kind of life, consequently no clash.

The issue with him is that he wants to apply his old-fashioned mentality and enter to occident.
You cannot wear occidental bonjour attire, go to the races near the Queen of UK and oblige your relatives to obey to your middle age mentality, just because you are crazily rich.
By the way, is the hearing to the Court tomorrow?

Haya of Jordan is already in Court where the trial for the custody of their children begins.

It is good to see the Princess personally attending court sessions after all this drama. She looks fine but a bit tensed with the rosary in her hands.

Princess Haya asked for wardship of her children - with whom she left the United Arab Emirates (UAE) - as well as a forced marriage protection order and a non-molestation order.
The details of the orders sought by the princess are not known.
Sheikh Mohammed meanwhile applied for the return of his children to Dubai, and also applied for the court to impose reporting restrictions on details about the orders - a request the judge rejected.

This is the big advantage to the case being heard in the UK.

For somebody being allegedly forced to marry, Haya looked pretty happy at her wedding. In fact Sheikh Mohammed looked like the party who was forced to marry.

And who would be the one who forced her to marry Sheikh Mohammed?
King Abdullah?

I understand it that princess Haya seeks forced marriage protection for her children, not that Haya has claimed that she was forced to marry the sheikh.

Or she seeks forced marriage protection for not to be staying married to the Sheikh?

Good question, Biri.
The last reason I expected to hear from her TBH. Maybe It's just a legal excuse to ensure that her children will be kept in the UK far away from her husband's influence.

I thought the forced marriage protection was meant for the children but perhaps it also applies to Princess Haya? Even though she willingly married in 2004, she no longer wishes to be but is forced to remain married.

A forced marriage protection order helps if someone says they have been forced into marriage or already in a forced marriage, according to official British legal definitions.

Reading the request, I took it to mean that it pertains to the now rather than that she was forced into a marriage on her wedding day. Perhaps with the power her husband has in the UAE and if this case was turned over to be heard in the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed would have the authority to "order" his wife to remain married to him with no divorce granted and therefore retain total control over his children. I'm only guessing here.

Its an interesting case for sure.

Sky News
A hearing at the family division of the Royal Courts of Justice - which only a limited number of media outlets, including Sky News, were permitted to attend - was told Princess Haya has submitted applications for wardship of the children, leave to apply for a forced marriage protection order and a forced marriage protection order regarding one of the children.
She also submitted a non-molestation order.
The sheikh has applied for the children to return to Dubai.
The children are currently wards of the court, meaning any major decisions impacting them must be cleared by the court.
As the hearings concern children, reporting restrictions to protect their welfare apply.
The initial two-day hearings come ahead of more substantive court sessions, for which a date has not been set.

I think the forced marriage protection order is related to her current case. She is in a marriage that is now forced on her as she wants to get divorced. Not that she was forced to marry him 15 years ago.

I hope she remains safe and happy.

Ok wait...is she is the only current wife? If she is not the only wife at this time whom is he legally married to (as far as western courts will accept)?

One of the forced marriage protection orders is for one of her children, maybe they have included one for her (if indeed they have) for some sort of legal reason - to allow other evidence from her marriage to be brought into court for example.
